Darphin Exquisage Duo

I had a good read through the press release for this new range from Darphin, and what it essentially is is collagen-boosting.  Collagen is one of the key words in the beauty world – we all know that diminished production of collagen as we get older leads to the classic signs of ageing – less firm skin, fine lines, and those dreaded wrinkles.

But Darphin are not calling this an anti-ageing product. Darphin are trying to promote the ethos that looking good for our age, at any age, is a better rule to live by, than trying to look younger than our years.

I understand that, but trying to obliterate the phrase ‘anti-ageing’ from the beauty industry is a pretty heavy task, I’d say! And a bit of a daft one, if I am honest. We all want to look younger. Even those of us who categorically deny it will have had a look in the mirror one morning, and bemoaned that new line or wrinkle, and our advancing years.

Darphin say there comes a time in life when a woman realises that age is just a number, feels better than ever, and wants skincare solutions that complement her natural beauty. I am pretty happy at my age, but I’d never say no to getting my 20-year-old skin back!

Darphn Exquisage Serum and Moisturiser

So, these products do, essentially, fall into the anti-ageing category. The key ingredient in the Beauty Revealing Serum, and Beauty Revealing Cream, is the CelluVie Complex, a blend of ingredients formulated to boost skin’s natural collagen. In vitro tests showed that the complex doubled collagen production, enhancing elasticity of the skin for a firmer look and feel.

The complex contains three ingredients: Acetyl Hexapeptide, Laminaria digitata Extract, and Sapindus Mukurossi Fruit Extract, and Caesalpinia spinosa Extract. The peptite boosts the collagen production, Laminaria digitata is a brown algae extract which promotes natural youthfulness of the skin, and the two botanicals combat signs of age fatigue by promoting the energy that is essential for optimum renewal of the skin.

The Beauty Revealing Serum (£75) helps with skin tone and elasticity, using the complex, as well as a plankton extract, and soothing artichoke leaf extract. It smells lovely, and should leave your skin looking radiant and feeling firm.

The Beauty Revealing Cream (£65) contains probiotics for protection, and a blend of barley, tomato, sunflower and cucumber extract to reinforce the skin’s barrier, and help it retain moisture over time, and protect it against environmental aggressions. This a rich, lovely, scented cream.

Both these products are for all skin types, and are as lovely as you would expect from Darphin skincare, and are available now at Darphin counters, and darphin.co.uk
