Clinique's Aromatics in White
Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir is one of my favourite scents. Clinique call it their ‘intriguing non-conformist fragrance’, and it is very different to anything else. It’s almost impossible to describe, with notes or rose, jasmine, ylang ylang and vetiver, but is hard to pin down exactly what it is.
It’s not for everyone, and so Clinique have decided to create a new Aromatics – Aromatics in White. Clinique say it’s a ‘confident interplay of serene woods, transparent petals and warm amber notes’
It is absolutely nothing like the original Aromatics. That’s not to say I don’t like it, but it’s not going to replace my love for the original. It has top notes of Violet Leaf, with ambery Cistus, and Sichuan pepper, giving it depth. The heart is floral, with Rose Water Essential. combined with lush Orange Flower, and rich Patchouli Heart. At the base, more seductive depth with Amber Gris and Skin Musk , and Benzoin.
It is a lovely fragrance – fresh, but with depth, the floral unmistakable here. The bottle is beautiful, elegant and classic. If you have an Aromatics Elixir fan in your house, then it would be interesting to gift them this one for Christmas to see how they feel about it.
