Aurelia Probiotic Skincare

I get a lot of new skincare brands on my desk, which means I can get a bit blase about another moisturiser, or cleanser, blah, blah, blah. However, if I get to meet the brand creator, well, that makes a difference!

Not that Claire Vero, founder of Aurelia Probiotic Skincare, had to impress me much. It was a two-way street with her and her brand – she was a great advert for the brand; the brand was a great advert for itself. So, this is Aurelia Probiotic Skincare.Pretty packaging, natural ingredients, no nasties, and a charming founder with a proper background in science.

Claire worked for one of the world’s leading global pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare companies, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). As a Marketing Director within GSK’s Global Dermatology Centre of Excellence she took a leading role in launching evidence-based technology into markets whilst identifying and considering the varying needs of different skin types around the world.

We had a fab little chat when we met last week, and Claire was more than helpful as I moaned on and on about my palmoplantar psoriasis – she gave me some great tips! Claire is a great advert for her brand – her skin is amazing, and she is enthusiastic about her products – and so she should be.

So, what is this lovely brand, with pretty packaging, but which packs a scientific punch, naturally? Aurelia Probiotic Skincare, is a luxury probiotic range fused with BioOrganic botanical ingredients. All products are free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulphates, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, PEGs, TEA and DEA. They  never test on animals, are a British company and manufacture in England.

I’ve been trying out a few of the products since we met a few weeks ago, and I am loving them – and so is my skin. Claire couldn’t emphasise the point of cleansing enough. “It makes no sense to put expensive creams on skin you haven’t properly cleansed,” she said.

So, her Miracle Cleanser (£34) is a joy to use – and is great for your skin. It smells fabulous, and is a creamy infusion that just glides on. It lifts off all impurities and makeup with ease.It fuses probiotic and peptide technologies with BioOrganic plant and flower essences to hydrate and soothe dull and dehydrated skin, and has anti-ageing benefits too.

The scent comes from an essential oil blend of Eucalyptus, Chamomile, Rosemary and Bergamot. It comes with an antibacterial bamboo muslin cloth which buffs away dead skin cells and make-up whilst helping to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process. You can, of course, use cotton pads if you prefer. Aurelia also offer a cute as a button box of seven Monday to Sunday cloths. A brilliant gift.

If you use the likes of  Emma Hardie’s Moringa Balm cleanser, or Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish, then you will love this cleanser. And if you don’t, then you really should! Time to throw away those wipes! “Cleansing wipes are not something I would ever use, not even on my baby,” says Claire.

As well as the Miracle Cleanser, I’ve been using Aurelia’s Eye Revitalizing Duo (£90). Two products that work in synergy on the most delicate skin on your face. The Revitalise & Brighten Eye Duo is a wake-me-up metal rollerball, providing a gentle lymphatic massage ensuring the luxurious blend of actives and botanicals absorb to brighten and firm the delicate eye area. It contains Aurelia’s signature probiotic, peptide and repair technologies to help reduce inflammation and dark circles.

So, I am using this every morning, and then in the evening, the Illuminate & Smooth Puff Reduction Eye Cream, which comes in a glass tub – all the glass packaging helps preserve the products – with a little black scoop to lift out just enough for each eye. It’s a really light cream, but is packed full of that probiotic and repair technologies. Infused with Arnica, Centella asiatica and Butcher’s Broom, it works to amazing effect to reduce inflammation, fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. It’s amazing, trust me.

Finally, every night I have been enjoying the lovely Cell Repair Night Oil (£45) which is an intensive overnight boosting treatment which works in tandem with your skin’s nightly repair mode. BioOrganic 100% pure botanicals ensure this lovely oil instantly absorbs to work on all fronts.

Kalahari oil provides abundant essential fatty acids, Mongongo oil restructures and regenerates the epidermis, Kigelia firms and tones, Baobab delivers precious Omega 3, 6 & 9 and the antioxidant properties of Hibiscus fight free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. It’s naturally fragranced with Neroli, Lavender, Rose and Mandarin. A few drops goes a long way.
