Chanel No.5 for Christmas?
Oh, go on then! Who wouldn’t love something Chanel No.5 for Christmas? This year they have brought out a few lovely gift items, to go along with that big bottle you’re getting of course…!
Why is Chanel No.5 so popular. Jacques Polge, Creator of Chanel fragrances, reckons it retains all the mystery of an abstract fragrance, in which no identifiable dominant note stands out from the EIGHTY – yep, that’s EIGHTY, ingredients used in its composition. It blends notes of Ylang Ylang, Grasse Jasmine and May Rose, enhanced by Aldehydes amongst who knows what else?!
Whatever the mystery scent, I love it. It is sensual, but not overpowering, fresh, clean and yet has great depth. It’s a beautiful, timeless scent. This Christmas, there are three new additions to the Chanel No.5 line – The No.5 Bath Soap, the No.5 Body Cream, and the No.5 Loose Powder.
The Bath Soap is so perfumed it is currently serving a purpose, boxed, as a room fragrance in my office! It’s a lovely new, curvaceous, oval shape this year, and it is indulgent and beautiful. The Body Cream has a rich and creamy texture which moisturises and softens, and leaves it delicately scented. It comes in a gorgeous chunky square tub. Finally, the Loose Powder, light, fine and airy in texture, use the gorgeous vintage-style puff to sweep it on.
