Smashbox Love Lips
Two new products have recently launched at the Smashbox counter -both for lips. I am REALLY excited about the first one, the Always Sharp Lip Liner. I was stupidly impressed with the Always Sharp Eye Liners when I saw them last year – and wrote about them here. But as I actually wear Lip Liner more than eyeliner, this launch is way more exciting.
It’s the same principle – the liner is sharp, you use it, it goes blunt, then you twist the lid back on, and when you take it off, voila – sharp again! Genius!
Of course, it’s actually a tiny built-in sharpener in the lid, which does its magic every time you close. There are 16 shades to choose from, and I have been trying out the very bright red Ruby of late (what else!?). The formula, I am sad to say, is a wee bit dry, but the liner goes on well and stays on, and really does not move, so no fear of that pout bleeding, smudging or feathering at all.
The shades range from four nudes, to pinks, reds, corals and plums.
The second lip launch from Smashbox is their Be Legendary Long Wear Lip Lacquer. Working in the age of super HD photography and film, Davis factor needs more than shine – he needs the maximum staying power of a bold stain so his shoots wont be interrupted with the usual reapply and repeat. But with stains being uncomfortable – according to Davis Factor’s models – and glosses that disappear and hair can stick to, something else was needed.
So, that’s how the Be Legendary Lip Lacquer was born. It has vibrant staining pigments, glossy staining pigments and conditioning Vitamin E. These are a real lacquer – they have high shine, and great pigmentation and they do stay on. Am not sure they last from AM to the after hours party as Smashbox claim, but who wants that anyway? Surely re-applying your lippy is part of life?! They don’t dry out, and they do smell fabulous! There are 20 shades available from pinks, nudes, corals, purples, reds, all sorts – whatever your shade, you will find it here!
