Tom Ford's Flawless Complexion collection

This is Tom Ford’s new Flawless Complexion collection. “As human beings, we all respond subconsciously to symmetry. It is a universal beauty standard. A symmetrical and balanced face is considered beautiful in our society,” says Tom Ford.

I get the feeling Tom Ford likes symmetry in everything, don’t you? He’s SO perfect! If you’ve seen his film, A Single Man, you will see how meticulous he is about attention to detail. So, it’s no surprise that he has created this Flawless Complexion collection. With three new items, this collection aims to give us all as near a flawless complexions as we can get with the clever use of our base products.

First up is Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF15 (£62). Long-wearing, humidity resistant, hydrating and able to even the skin tone, this foundation creates a flawless, poreless canvas on whcih to create. It contains the skin-nourishing Tom Ford Infusing Complex to help smooth and renew, and also to diminish the appearance of ine lines and wrinkles.  It is buildable, medium-to-full coverage, and probably suits normal to combination/oily skins the best. It feels gorgeous on, glides on smoothly and has excellent coverage. It comes in 15 shades.

I was most impressed with the Concealing Pen (£40) in this collection. It has a unique sponge applicator, which is SO soft, and feels brilliant on the skin. It works for under-eyes ad other areas of uneven skintone and redness. The formula is as luxurious as the foundation, and you can use it alone, or with the foundation.  It’s so easy to use, just twist the end to start the product, and apply the pen directly to the face, and blend. It comes in six shades.

And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s a Correcting Pen (£34), a dual-ended pen which is Tom’s ultimate on-the-go touch up corrector. One end is the oval shaped corrector which is a pink based shade to neutralize under-eye darkness, the other end a fine point, yellow-tipped concealer used to precisely camouflage any imperfections. This is SO soft, so easy to blend and it really does instantly brighten under the eyes. If you want more coverage, use the concealing pen on top.  This one comes in three shades for differing skintones.
