Collection Etats Poetiques from Chanel

I have already fallen in love with the imagery from Chanel’s AW14 beauty collection, Etats Poetiques inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s fascination with the art of poetry. 

And, I think I am now falling in love with the collection. It is a very romantic, pared down collection, with washes for lips, barely there glosses, nude nails, but all about the eyes, with bold, bright eyes.

The eyes are at the heart of the collection with no less than six shades of Soft Touch Eyeshadow (£23) singles. The colour palette ranges from muted neutrsls, to bright yellow nd bold pink – try them if you dare. There is, of course, a quad – Les 4 Ombres (£40) in Poesie (Limited Edition) has four gorgeous shimmery muted shades in it, perfect for everyday wear. There are two Automatic Liquid Eyeliners (£27) in brown and black, to add an edge to the eyes, and one  Powder Blush (£31) in a lovely coral shade.

The lips are washed with Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshines (£25), in four pink, plum and neutral shades. The two Glossimer for Lips (£22) lipglosses are very, very barely there, pale, and the three nails are very different – deep blue, nude and shimmery neutral pink. It’s a really lovely collection for autumn/winter. It’s full of berry shades and pale shimmery nudes, and is perfect for the change of season.
