Cachette SteamCream

2 min read

I’ve seen SteamCream on and off in my time as a beauty writer – it seems to pop up in my inbox every now and then. What is it? Well, it’s a moisturiser, simple as that. It comes in cute tins, and contains 11 specifically selected natural ingredients, and is packed with raw plant extracts.

The reason it’s called SteamCream is the steam process used to create it. Many moisturisers use complex molecules to bind their ingredients but SteamCream is light and loosely bound, so it penetreates into your skin for more moisturisation. It contains neroli, rose asbolute, chamomile blue, lavender essential oil, sweet almond oil and cocoa butter. All those ingredients have particular uses for all types of skin.

Chamomile Blue essential oil brightens and evens skin tone.  The soothing oatmilk base, antiseptic lavender oil and the calming chamomile soothe red and irritated skin. The Orange Blossom Water balances sebum production. Effective hydration is provided by palm free glycerine. almond oil, jojoba oil and cocoa butter. Mature skin is kept soft and supple with the use of rose absolute.

The tins are great – and reusable – and this lovely Cachette tin has been created just in time for fashion week this September. Makeup artists such as Lisa Eldridge, Jemma Kidd, Wendy Rowe, and Ruby Hammer all apparently love SteamCream  – apply to create healthy looking and hydrated skin. It works well as a makeup primer.

It is very moisturising, feels smooth on, and has that natural scent. I think the thing I like about SteamCream the most is the cute as a button tins. This Cachette tin features the cutest lace print and an adorable shoe.

SteamCream is £12.95 a tin – and there are new tins regularly – and is available from steamcream.co.uk, Selfridges, John Lewis, ASOS and Debenhams
