Lush voted Which Number 1 for Toiletries and Cosmetics - Beauty Bargain of the week

2 min read

We can all spend a fortune on beauty products, but we don’t need to. Every week, I’m going to bring you my ‘Beauty Bargain of the Week‘  – a product I’ve used, and would recommend, and that, on most occasions, costs less than a fiver! What’s not to like!

This week’s Beauty Bargain is a bit different – one of my favourite shops, Lush, has been voted the UK’s Number 1 for Toiletries and Cosmetics for the third year running, in the Which? High Street Shopping Survey.

And I think the shop is full of beauty bargains! Which? surveyed over 11,000 people about shops they had visited in the last six months based on customer satisfaction and their likelihood of recommending to a friend, and Lush came out top, much to the delight of their Director for Lush Retail, Paul Wheatley

“We focus on the freshest product, innovation and excellent customer service and are grateful and proud that our customers have awarded us the top spot for the third consecutive year for doing what we love,” he commented. “We would like to thank all of our staff for their enthusiasm and hard work.”

Lush was founded in Poole, 18 years ago, driven by innovation and its ethics, creating pioneering beauty products such as the fizzing bath ballistic, shower jellies and solid shampoo bars and placing emphasis on fresh ingredients like organic fruits and vegetables.

Lush operates a strict policy against animal testing and supports Fair Trade and Community Trade initiatives. Lush leads the cosmetics industry in combating over-packaging by running public awareness campaigns and developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer without any packaging. Lush has been awarded the RSPCA Good Business Award for 2006, 2007 and 2009, along with the 2006 PETA Trailblazer Award for Animal Welfare. Co-founders Mark and Mo Constantine were awarded OBEs for services to the beauty industry in the new years honours list 2010.

Wow! Is it any wonder they won?! We love Lush, and here are a few of our favourite Lush products, clockwise, from top left.
