Clarins NEW Skin Illusion Foundation

I love a new foundation, and I love Clarins, but I don't love the post right now, as I am still waiting on my press sample of this to arrive, and I am itching to try it. EDIT: My foundation arrived and I am going to stick my neck out and say it's great. This is not a foundation for you if you like a full coverage. It's a sheer foundation, which might seem an odd autumnal base, when we usually want a wee bit more coverage, but it has everything … [Read more...]

Benefit say Hello Happy with new foundation

The first thing I thought when I saw the new Benefit Hello Happy foundation was how non-Benefit it looked! The shape of the bottle reminds me of Clinique's packaging on some of their bases, although it's a little less rounded. And obviously there isn't a cute happy face on the Clinique bottles! The new base is a Soft Blur Foundation, with light to medium coverage and an SPF15 PA+++. The idea, Benefit say, is that it looks like skin and … [Read more...]

NEW Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-LOngwear Foundation

Laura Mercier is the latest brand to launch a new foundation - the Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation. Apparently you can get 15 hours of wear out of this one, and it's full coverage, but weightless. I have tried it - the shade I had wasn't the right shade for my skintone, so I didn't wear it out, so I can't comment on the 15 hours (would I need 15 hours from it?) but it is a smooth, matte finish, and it does feel weightless. I did … [Read more...]

NEW bareMinerals Bare Pro Foundation

Bare Minerals launched a new foundation last week - the BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation SPF20. I've had quite a few new foundations to try of late, and I've been using this one for around a month. I like it. But it's maybe just a little bit too full coverage for me. It has a natural matte finish, which I do like, as opposed to anything overly dewy. bareMinerals suggest you will look and feel like you are wearing nothing on your … [Read more...]

Clinique’s new Superbalanced Foundation

Clinique have just launched another new foundation, called Superbalanced. I've probably tried pretty much all of Clinique's foundations over the years, and liked some more than others. I don't generally use Clinique bases these days, but I gave this one a go for this review, and it's pretty decent. The idea of it is that it 'balances it all' in terms of makeup. So, it feels weightless on your skin, but gives perfect cover, controls oil, but … [Read more...]

TOM FORD Waterproof Foundation/Concealer Review

I think foundation is probably the single most important beauty buy you make. Getting the right base is vital to the rest of your makeup and it's one product I am consistently asked advice on. So, any new foundations, I love to try them. This week I've been using the new Tom Ford Waterproof Foundation/Concealer, a hybrid product, part of a small Tom Ford Autumn beauty collection. The first thing I will say is, that, like most Tom Ford … [Read more...]

Clinique Chubby Foundation & new Boots No7 base

I LOVE a new foundation. I love wearing a base, and have absolutely loads of them, for all different occasions, times of year, climates, etc. So, I've been happily trialling two brand new bases for the last few weeks. First up, and on counter yesterday is Boots No7 Beautifully Matte Light Foundation.  I've been using Cool Vanilla. And I love it. It's a matte foundation, oil free, and I expected not to love it, to be honest. But it glides on, has … [Read more...]

Astalift Light Analyzing Foundation

When I first heard of the Astalift brand, and that it was owned by Fujifilm, I did find it a little odd. Why would Fujifilm have a cosmetics arm? But they used four basic film-related technologies to develop Astalift-  collagen research, light analysis and control, antioxidation, and original nanotechnology. And now their new Light Analyzing Moisture Foundation SP25 (£29) uses their heritage in light and colour, with scientific beauty formulas, … [Read more...]
