Party Season Makeup Deals

It's party season! Don't try and deny it - it's December tomorrow, and if you've not already been to at least one festive event, you need to re-evaluate your social life! With party season, comes party makeup. Glitter, sparkle, more is more, etc, etc. And when you've done your makeup, you want it to last, right? Don't be spraying hairspray on your face either, when there's things like Misslyn's Stay With me! Matte Fixing Spray on the market.  … [Read more...]

Benefit say Hello Happy with new foundation

The first thing I thought when I saw the new Benefit Hello Happy foundation was how non-Benefit it looked! The shape of the bottle reminds me of Clinique's packaging on some of their bases, although it's a little less rounded. And obviously there isn't a cute happy face on the Clinique bottles! The new base is a Soft Blur Foundation, with light to medium coverage and an SPF15 PA+++. The idea, Benefit say, is that it looks like skin and … [Read more...]

New Concealers from Laura Mercier and Clinique

Concealers seem to be having a moment of late - quite a few have recently landed on my desk. The latest two come from Clinique and Laura Mercier. Laura Mercier launched its Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer (£24) earlier this year, a medium to full coverage concealer, with a natural, luminous finish. It feels weightless on skin and perfects, hydrates and blurs imperfections with 12 hours of crease-resistant wear. The concealer … [Read more...]

Plump your lips for International Kissing Day

It's International Kissing Day this Friday. Let's dwell on that, rather than the fact it is Friday the 1th, yes? So, time to get those lips ready for some smooching. (Or good enough to smooch, even if you don't want any kissing going on this weekend!) Lip fillers. They're massively popular, the girls on TOWIE love them, and they aren't as expensive as you might think - particularly when bought through one of 5pm's fantastic deals. The … [Read more...]

Benefit launch Punch Pop!

Super cute, super retro, super cool. I love these new Punch Pop! lip colours from Benefit. They're an antidote to the mass matte trend, and the packaging is just perfect. Pop goes your Pucker, say Benefit, as they aim to coat your lips in a luscious, rich, nourishing liquid lip colour with super shine. Each vibrant colour has a POP of bursting colour, sensational shine and Vitamin E. Punch Pop! was inspired by iconic bubble gum - … [Read more...]

Estee Lauder NEW Double Wear Nude foundation

I love a new foundation (although I have found a beauty in Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow), and I have three to try out over the next few weeks. First up is from Estee Lauder. The NEW Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup SPF30 landed on my desk last week, and it's actually perfect for my holiday, because the shade is 2N1 Desert Beige, which is a little darker than my normal shades. There are 33 shades to choose from, for all … [Read more...]

Benefit’s Porefessional pore minimizing makeup

Benefit launch the latest product in the Porefessional line this month - pore minimizing makeup. It's essentially a foundation, or let's call it a base, with corrective powers, namely pore minimizing of course! I adore the packaging - it's what Benefit do best, turning a simple beauty product into something fun. You twist off the top, then pull the sponge applicator out of the bottom of the bottle, and use to apply the product  that comes … [Read more...]

New Primers and Concealers from NARS

NARS are concentrating on our complexions for the start of 2017 - they launched new primers on January 1, and are following up with a new concealer on February 1. There are three new Face Primers to choose from -  to boost it, blur it, and smooth it, say NARS. The Radiance Primer SPF 35/PA+++ contains a Radiance Boosting Complex which works to revive dull, fatigued skin instantly and over time. Encapsulated sunscreen beads release on contact … [Read more...]

Estee Lauder Double Wear Wipes

Beauty wipes get a raw deal, but they are hugely popular, and it's not rocket science as to why. Easy and quick to use, they are brilliant when you are feeling lazy. However, make sure you use a decent brand. Throughout most of my 20s I wiped with baby wipes to take my makeup off, and I do not recommend this! I love a balm or an oil cleanser normally, but sometimes a wipe is all that is required - and all I can manage. So, I keep a supply in … [Read more...]

Girl Meets Brush

This is an interesting new concept from makeup artist Lynne Mills (co-creator of the Miss Flicklash lashes - eyelashes with a liner flick - which are now made by Eyelure). Essentially, it's makeup brushes, but, with a twist - buy the brushes AND the expertise, in actual, real-life, form. Lynne's aim for her new venture - Girls Meets Brush - is simple - to bring a set of good quality, and essential, brushes, for everyone, from you and me, to … [Read more...]
