Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Stunna Lip Paint

I'm not just a little late to the party with Fenty Beauty - I actually completely missed the date! Sometimes, even being a beauty writer with 15 years experience behind you doesn't get you on the right lists, and I missed the Fenty Beauty launch at Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh last year. It was an early morning launch, so doubtful if I would have made it, but, well, an invite would have been nice. So, I followed up on the launch and was sent … [Read more...]

Smashbox NEW mascara and liner

I love a mascara, and I love an eyeliner, so trialling these two new Smashbox products has been fun - and, I'm pleased to say, they're both decent! Mascaras are hit or a miss, right? There's always some smudging involved, no matter what they say. Unless they are tubing mascaras - like Clinique's Full-to-Flutter mascara, which forms little tubes round the lashes, and water takes it off. Two great new Smashbox products. I’m becoming a … [Read more...]

Scandi Skincare from VERSO

We all love everything Scandi, right? From Scandi Noir on the TV to hygge at home, we've fully embraced the trends from Scandinavia in recent times. So, why not embrace the beauty brands too? Well, one of them at least - VERSO from Sweden. I was lucky enough to meet up with brand founder Lars Frederiksson in Space NK in Edinburgh last month, and have a good old chinwag about the brand and the products. I also learned that Restylane - the filler … [Read more...]

Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask – Face Mask Friday

Beauty masks are everywhere these days – so let’s trial one every other Friday from now on. From sheet masks, to clay masks, to cream masks, and everything inbetween. EMMA HARDIE MORINGA RENEWAL TREATMENT MASK, £49. SPACE NK OKAY, so I've been a bit lax with this blog post series - it's been a few months since our last Face Mask Friday, I admit. Mea culpa and all that. But here we are, back with a beauty of a mask from the lovely Emma … [Read more...]

Sparkle with Bobbi Brown’s new Eyeshadow Sticks

BOBBI BROWN'S Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks now come in a Sparkle formula - and it's great. This new formula is infused with multi-dimensional pearls that give a 'prismatic' finish. That in turn brings a sparkle effect to the eyes. I've been trying the shade, Gilded, a gold colour, and the sparkle is great - but subtle enough not to be overpowering. The formula is a water-based gel technology with staying power - it doesn't fade or … [Read more...]

Plump your lips for International Kissing Day

It's International Kissing Day this Friday. Let's dwell on that, rather than the fact it is Friday the 1th, yes? So, time to get those lips ready for some smooching. (Or good enough to smooch, even if you don't want any kissing going on this weekend!) Lip fillers. They're massively popular, the girls on TOWIE love them, and they aren't as expensive as you might think - particularly when bought through one of 5pm's fantastic deals. The … [Read more...]

Tanning Deals

Snow. Right, that's enough of that, I think. What is going on with this neverending winter?! So, let's NOT talk snow, and talk tanning instead. Okay, you might not be showing off your limbs, still wrapped up in winter clothes, but surely having a bit of a tan will make you feel better at least. I was browsing Instagram  recently and noticed St Tropez's new PURITY Bronzing Water Mousse (£31, Boots). Looks great, but I'm no good when it comes … [Read more...]

NEW bareMinerals BAREPRO Concealer

I've not used any other concealer since the launch of the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer last year. As luck will have it, as my tube of it is about to run out, this new BAREPRO Full Coverage Concealer from bareMinerals has landed on my desk. Unlike the Bobbi concealer, which is a liquid with a doe foot applicator, this is a stick. It's been a while since I've used a stick concealer - they bring back all sorts of horrendous … [Read more...]

GlamGlow Waterburst Moisturiser

I am not a massive GlamGlow fan - the products are fun, and I love the concept. But whilst I'd use the face masks, because they are fun, I'm not completely convinced with the moisturisers. However, I am going to give the latest a go, because it's been created for dry skin, and that's me! The new GLAMGLOW Waterburst Hydrated Glow Moisturiser is the brand's new Korean skincare innovation. It's a weightless water cream, formulated with water … [Read more...]
