Illamasqua Sacred Hours

You've got to love Illamasqua. They are like no other brand when it comes to crazy old collection concepts. The latest, Sacred Hours, and the press blurb about it, reminded me of my favourite comic (and yearly annual!)as a kid, Misty. Misty was 'filled with chills from the midnight world' and 'stories from the world of shadows' - and she was all spooky and beautiful on the cover. Illamasqua's Sacred Hours could give Misty a run for her money … [Read more...]

The Damned at TopShop

I am in love with the TopShop AW13 Limited Edition beauty collection, The Damned. It's a capsule collection that vamps up sultry gothic makeup with gogeous  matte, velvet smooth finishes, and with it you can create some very different look. Over on my own blog, Beauty Bombshells, I tried out the Velvet Lips (£10) in bold red, Velveteen Ribbon. This lovely red lip lacquer is bright red, very bold, and very matte. There are two other shades - … [Read more...]

Summer Glow

Okay, it's nearly the end of September, but I am trying to cling on to that summer glow as long as I can. And I don't mean by having a spray tan - though I did indulge in a really lovely Vita Liberata spray tan a week or so ago. No, I have been using various products to eke out the last of the summer glow from my almost-forgotten holidays. I came across this lovely Kevin.Murphy Shimmer Shine (£19.95, call01282 613413 for stockists) a few weeks … [Read more...]

If I could only use one beauty brand it would be Sisley. So, save up, ask for it as a gift, but try and sample some of their lovely products. It is easy for me … [Read more...]

Estee Lauder Icons – beauty inspiration

When I first moved out of home, when I was 19, I had a photo on my kitchen wall, not of my favourite popstar, but of my five favourite women - the 'big five' supermodels. I still have this cut-out picture somewhere, showing l-r Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford, with Tatjana Patitz at the back. Each and every one of them stunning in their own way, and inspirational, to me, as a young woman. I adored Linda … [Read more...]

We can all spend a fortune on beauty products, but we don’t need to. Every week, I’m going to bring you my ‘Beauty Bargain of the Week‘  – a product I’ve used, and would recommend, and that, on most occasions, costs less than a fiver! What’s not to like! So, yesterday on here, I was banging on about foundations being back on trend. And they are. Autumn is here, so a bit more coverage is required, and every brand and their auntie seems to be … [Read more...]

Neo Stem Beauty from France

I've been using another new serum this week - I can't seem to get enough of them of late - this one formulated specifically for dry skin, and wow - I am impressed. Neo Stem is a ground-breaking anti-ageing skincare brand from France, born out of intensive scientific research carried out by a Marseilles based team into rare genetic diseases, including Progeria – a syndrome which causes premature ageing in children. It's been brought to the UK by … [Read more...]
