Givenchy Spring 2020 Gardens Collection

2 min read

Do you like peonies? Me too. Monsieur de Givenchy three. I’m dreaming of them right now as the rain and wind blow up a storm outside and wishing I was in the Givenchy Manoir du Jonchet gardens.

The new Spring Gardens collection from Givenchy Beauty will have to do right now – created as a tribute to Hubert de Givenchy’s 40+ years of passion for the peony-filled gardens. The brand’s UK Makeup Ambassador,  Nicolas Degennes, took inspiration from the beautiful peony flower to create both the packaging and the different shades of the Spring collection.

It’s a pretty simple collection with lipsticks, multi-purpose pencils, and a gorgeous blush duo.

The Le Rouge Lipstick (£30.50) sheaths are decorated with three different floral paintings created exclusively for Givenchy. Each lipstick has been sprayed with a fine iridescent mist and projects a metallic shine for a frosted effect. This means they add light and highlight the natural curve of the lips. The shades are Sparkling Peony, a bright punk studded with golden illuminating pigments, Sparkling Poppy, a deep red embellished with pink illuminating pigments, and Sparkling Lily, a radiant orange embellished with silvery illuminating pigments.

The Prisme Blush Gardens Edition (£35) is available in Spice, in a case adorned with a bouquet of irises. There are four prisms, with two colours. An orangey pure matte and ultra-pigmented colour, paired with an iridescent pink highlighter.  You can blend the shades together or apply them next to each other, or you could use the pink highlighter to highlight the tops of the cheekbones, the brow bone or the bridge of the nose.

The Khol Couture Waterproof Pencils (£18) comes in three shades – Poppy – and oxblood red, Iris – deep aubergine, and Peony – cool pink. Play with them, to create lines wherever you want.

And that’s it – a short stroll in a garden, but a colourful one nonetheless!
