Lush launch new Ultraplant Cleanser

It’s Veganuary, and Lush has launched a new cleanser called Ultraplant – with the hashtag #TryVegan. The brand states this is its most luxurious, cold cream facial cleanser yet, and if you want to treat yourself, and the planet, then give it a go.

It is a pretty innovative product  – a vegan blend, completely plant-based, self-preserving, and uses just six ethically-sourced natural ingredients – organic jojoba oil, orange blossom water, glycerine, sunflower wax, organic agave nectar, and candelilla wax.

Each one of the ingredients provides formidable skin benefits. The Peruvian jojoba oil is sourced from growers committed to keeping ethical practices at the hear of their work and candelilla wax is a popular vegan alternative to beeswax, this variety sourced sustainably in Mexico from a project supporting reforestation practices.

The jojoba oil is light and ultra-hydrating, and helps to balance sebum production due to its affinity to the oils our skin produces – and despite being called an oil, it’s actually a liquid wax meaning it remains stable indefinitely – helping to ensure this product is self-preserving.

Organic agave nectar is a great alternative to honey and is a humectant, which means it helps to attract and retain moisture in your skin while its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties help to cleanse and combat breakouts. The orange blossom water gives this cleanser its light and floral fragrance.

It’s a brilliant cleanser – exactly the type I love to use. You simply smooth it onto the skin and it transforms into a light and silky oil that deeply cleanses. It is ultra-effective, taking off all stubborn makeup, and residue of the day.

It comes in 45g tubs which are £12.50. A little of this goes a very long way. You just massage it into the skin, over the eyes, lips, wherever you want to be cleansed, and then use a warm flannel to remove it.
