Last Minute Christmas Gifts with 5pm

4 min read

What’s the favourite last-minute gift? Flowers? Hmm. Maybe perfume? Perfume is a massive Christmas seller – here’s a post I wrote on the Top Ten fragrances this Christmas.

One of my favourites isn’t on that list, but I’m thrilled to have been gifted a bottle of it from the lovely people at Philosophy – particularly because I thought it had been discontinued! Baby Grace is a beautiful, beautiful scent. It’s mimosa and musk and, to me, smells like powdery violets. I can’t explain why I love it. I just do. it’s not readily available – you will find it on QVC and Amazon. Of all the Philosophy Graces, it remains my favourite.

But, perhaps perfume is a bit of a predictable last-minute gift. And, for the same price as some of the big-name fragrances, you could grab a brilliant deal at 5pm for your favourite person this Christmas. And you can still do it, even though you absolutely should have finished your shopping by now!

There are loads of deals to choose from, but let’s have a look at six of the best.

A Chill Out Day with Lunch at the Erskine Bridge Hotel & Spa. Sounds fantastic, and the best bit is, it’s just £19. This deal can be taken seven days a week, from January 3 to March 3, and you get to use all the amazing facilities of the hotel, including a full-size indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Included is a two-course lunch with sparkling wine, and a 20 per cent discount on spa treatments. If you want to take the deal on Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays, you need to pay a £5 supplement.

Over at the Stirling Highland Hotel how about a Spa Day with Lunch deal? This deal also includes either two 25-minute treatments or one 55-minute treatment. You choose from a back massage, cleansing and purifying back treatment, Decleor discovery facial, tranquillity scalp massage, or express manicure or pedicure for the 25-minute treatments, or Vitamin surge facial or deluxe manicure or pedicure for the 55-minute treatments.

The hotel is a four-star property, and the spa is a fully modern area, with an extensive fitness suite, 17-metre indoor heated swimming pool, soothing spa pool, sauna and steam room. The two-course lunch comes from the lounge bar menu. The deal costs £42 for one person or £79 for two.

A Shellac Manicure at I Love Nails is a fantastic present, and at £12 it’s not going to break the bank at all. Who doesn’t enjoy having their nails done? And at I Love Nails in Glasgow’s Finnieston, there are all the colours of the rainbow to choose from. Take this deal for the first three months of the year, and Mon-Wed 10am-6pm, Thu-Fri 10am-7pm, and  Sat 10am-4pm.

The beautiful Fairmont St Andrews hotel enjoys a glorious coastal setting on a 520-acre estate, overlooking the picturesque skyline of St Andrews and the sea. The spa facilities are second to none with treatment rooms, relaxation spaces, a sixteen-metre indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The spa uses all-natural, grape and vine-based skincare products from the luxury French beauty brand, Caudalie.

This Spa Experience deal is available from Tuesday to Friday and includes a glass of Prosecco, a 50-minute treatment, and use of all those facilities. Treatment choice is from a personalised facial, custom massage, taster package, maintenance manicure or maintenance pedicure. For one person it’s £63, or for two it’s £125.

How about a gift with a difference? Brow Lamination is a cutting-edge technique designed to make your brows look bigger and fluffier. It results in a semi-permanent effect similar to a lash lift. Your brows are chemically treated to lift, lengthen and set them, enhancing their shape, thickness and colour. This deal is at Star Aesthetics in Glasgow city centre, overseen by Liz, a Harley Street trained beauty specialist who was a winner in this Year’s Scottish Business Awards and Best Aesthetics Business in Glasgow for 2019.

The deal is £20 and is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of March 2020.
