Electro Tartan from Illamasqua
Here’s an alternative take on Scotland’s favourite fabric pattern – Electro Tartan from Illamasqua.
Tartan is a fashion favourite – Vivienne Westwood loves the stuff! This is a clever beauty collection inspired by that trend, blending autumn shades with bright neon colours.
I like this collection, in its limited-edition packaging, and the lipsticks are FABULOUS!
I was gifted a lot of this collection to have a look at, but I didn’t get the Electrify Artistry Palette (£38), which is a gorgeous palette of 12 powder eye shadows, in a mixture of matte and metallic finishes, and a mix of intense shades, and natural colours. It certainly looks like a lot of fun in a palette! And some of the shade names have a distinctly Scottish feel to them too – but I’m not sure if Lady of the LOCK is intentional?! And Sporran has a double r – it’s in the details, Illamasqua!
There’s a gorgeous Beyond Powder in OMG Burst (£34), a new shade which has a bright pink accent on the existing powder in OMG. It’s a lovely marbled powder to give a stunning iridescent pink glow, that can highlight as well as give a sheer blush finish.
Now the Lipsticks! They’re £20 each, and the only problem is which to choose. It’s the Antimatter Lipstick, which is a semi-matte, and there are five new shades.
Amplifier is neon orange, Glowstick is a neon pink, Techno an electric purple, Legend, a rust red, and Turntable a deep red.
These lipsticks are long-wearing, conditioning, and they give great pigmentation, in a gorgeous mid-matte finish.
For Christmas gifting, there are a few options in this collection, with great savings.
The Lip, Eye and Cheek Set (£60) contains the Antimatter Lipstick in Glowstick, the neon pink. There’s a Jewel Precision Ink Eyeliner in there in Topaz, and the Beyond Powder in OMG Burst.
The Lip Duo Sets (£25) come in all five of the new lipstick shades, and as well as containing the Antimatter Lipstick, they contain a miniature Colouring Lip Pencil.
The Prep And Glow Vault (£55) is a two-step routine to radiant skin. It contains Illamsqua’s excellent Hydra Veil Primer, a gel primer which rehydrates and creates a great makeup base, and Beyond Powder in OMG Burst, for an all-over illuminated finish, or a subtle pop of blush.
