I’m never sure how I feel about direct selling companies, having had some pretty awful reactions to, and interactions with, Arbonne in the past.
I had never heard of MONAT until recently. American, they’ve been trading for five years and started as a haircare company. They recently branched out into skincare, and it’s been a massive hit, apparently.
It’s a fairly all-encompassing line, catering to the needs of all customers, regardless of skin type, ethnicity, age or gender, in eight products, with four exclusive science-based technologies.
MONAT’s press releases use the word ‘cult’ and I do tend to find these direct-selling skincare customers and sellers a bit cult-like. But, it’s hardly doing anyone any harm is it, selling hair and beauty products? (Although the brand did have a bit of bother with lawsuits in the US last year – Google to see what that was all about).
The skincare line sold $4 million worth of product in the first 36 hours, apparently, and it’s now available in the UK.
The product line-up includes cleansers, moisturisers, scrubs, eye creams, and nectars and essences – and there are two ranges – Be Balanced, and Be Gentle. You can buy it in ‘routines’ – so you get all four products for £260 – so it’s not cheap.
You can also buy individually, from the website.
The packaging is a millennial dream of rose gold and soft-touch pink, and the products contain the MONAT Rejuvenique STM oil complex, a beloved component of the haircare formulas. It comprises 17 natural oils highly compatible with skincare and hair, and is rich in omega fatty acids, antioxidants and nutrients, offering unparalleled and multifunctional beautifying benefits.
Hyaluronic Acid and vitamin C are in there, for hydration and brightening, and Plant stem cells derived from moss, and a rejuvenating peptide complex unique to MONAT offer anti-ageing and plumping benefits.
There’s also a cocktail of fruit acids including glycolic, malic, citrus, mandelic, mango, banana and cajá which work with super soothing lactic acid to smooth and brighten complexions.
All of MONAT products are vegan and cruelty-free and free from nasties including parabens, SLS/SLES, silicones, mineral oil, phthalates and harmful colours and fragrances.
MONAT skincare ranges available now from monatglobal.com and MONAT Market Partners nationwide. You can find your nearest one on the website.
