Facial Mists and Setting Sprays

There’s a big beauty trend for setting sprays. They’ll keep your newly applied makeup in perfect position – even if the heatwave weather of last week returns in spades. There also seem to be more and more new misting serums and moisturisers on the market – a new and efficient way to apply product to your skin, particularly in the summer.

Here are a few of the newest and best setting sprays and mists available at the moment.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Hydro-Mist (£43, elemis.com, from July), delivers the fast-acting results of a serum with the ease of mist. This super-fine formula mist sets and refreshes makeup hours of long- term hydration, the super-fine formula expertly sets and refreshes make-up, and acts as an extra layer of skincare. It contains organic English Rose Hydrolat, Padina Pavonica, an algae that supports the skin’s moisture barrier,  and Coastal Microalgae that is great for anti-oxidant properties, and hydration.

The latest hit from It’S SKIN Power 10, South Korea’s leading cosmeceutical brand, developed by dermatologists at the University of Seoul, is Power 10 Formula Mists. There are four mists to choose from – two water, and two milky. The green water Power 10 Formula Vb Sebum Mist (£18.95, beautybay.com) features oil-control formula Sebumize which includes vitamin B6 for sebum control, antioxidant Schizandra Chinensis fruit extract and anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial Phillodendron Amurense bark extract. This one is ideal if you have sebum problems. You can mist after cleansing, after makeup application, or just during the day when you feel the need.

The yellow milky  Power 10 Formula Vc Vitaful Mist (£18.95) features energising Vita10 TM, with brightening vitamin C, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant Camellia Sinensis leaf extract plus 10 vitamin complex, and is brilliant for skin that needs a little bit of added radiance and glow.

The new bareMinerals Dew Mist Setting Spray (£22) locks makeup in place, hydrates the skin and refreshes your complexion anytime. It contains a Kombucha Ferment, Watermelon and Apple Extracts to help hydrate the skin, Meadowsweet Extract, to reduce the appearance of pores, and Polychrome Mineral Pigments to provide a dewy glow with super fine mineral pearl. Shake it well and hold it eight to ten inches from your face, close your eyes and mouth and mist in a circular motion, directly on to skin, to lock your makeup in place.

There are three new W7 Illuminating Setting Sprays (£5.95 each, w7cosmetics.co.uk)  – Holo, Rose Gold, and Gold. Infused with opalescent pearls for a shimmering hold, they are a favourite of brand ambassador Olivia Buckland. These are cheap and cheerful, why not indulge in all three!?
