Father's Day Fragrances

It’s Father’s Day on Sunday, so time to treat your dad, or father figure, with something really special like a gorgeous fragrance. I am a fragrance addict, and I would probably wear all of these male scents myself!

I’ve chosen eight lovely Father’s Day Fragrances for you to consider.

1. AZZARO CHROME AQUA EDT, FROM £33 for 50ml, debenhams.com

This is a lovely citrus aromatic woody EDT with notes of grapefruit zest, green apple, spearmint and basil, and gorgeous Haitian vetiver. It’s the Med in the bottle, and it’s a delightful summer scent.

2. LES COUVENT DES MINIMES VALPARAISO, FROM £65 for 50ml, lookfantastic.com

Inspired by Chile this is a woody scent with top notes of petitgrain essence and spicy scents fuse with bitter tones. The heart is patchouli, myrrh and incense, with vetiver and cedar. The eastern red cedar essence in here is slightly rough and dry and has a pencil scent, which blends so well with the stunning ambery absolute vetiver. This lovely fragrance has up to 86% natural origin ingredients and is 100% vegan.

3. MONTBLANC EXPLORER EDP, FROM £33 FOR 30ml, nationwide

Yes, this is the pen company, and who knew they made fragrance too? Not me, obviously. The ingredients are from all over, and the scent was created by three noses who have been on their travels. So, there’s Italian bergamot, Haitian vetiver, Indonesian patchouli. There’s also pink pepper, clary sage, and more, creating a very masculine fragrance. There’s also leather and cocoa in there.

4. JO MALONE LONDON X HUNTSMAN COLOGNE,  £120 each for 100ml, jomalone.co.uk

This collaboration between Jo Malone and Huntsman Savile Row is a perfect pairing of scents and style. The bottles are classy, with gold typography and maroon tops, and the four scents are very different. Amber & Patchouli is a heady mix of guaiacwood and patchouli, Assam & Grapefruit is citrus grapefruit, emboldened with Assam, and a herbal scent of maté, infused with spicy cardamom and the warmth of patchouli. Birch & Black Pepper has black pepper and cardamom, juxtaposed with smoky birch and an accord of magnetic ink  – bizarre! Whisky & Cedarwood is fine whisky, edged with spicy pimento, finished with warm cedarwood. A gorgeous bold, daring scent.

5. VAN CLEEF & ARPELS RÊVE D’YLANG EDP, £260 for 125ml, nationwide

This is a luxury scent, thanks to the ingredients.  The special variety of ylang-ylang in this perfume blooms in South-East Asia and No fewer than 250 kg of flowers are needed to obtain one litre of ylang extra essence, the finest and rarest quality – the one behind Rêve d’Ylang. Once distilled, ylang-ylang petals release opulent fruity and spicy notes, generous aromas that diffuse with warm radiance. There’s a hint of saffron in here, as well as vanilla and patchouli.

This light, fresh and cool EDT is a super sunny scent. It has three accords – refreshing, thanks to citrus fruit, bergamot and orange, mint, and star anis; charming, with almond and neroli; and elegant, with vetiver, patchouli, and ambroxan. All blend together to create a stunning, simple, and fresh scent.

7. ABERCOMBIE & FITCH AUTHENTIC MAN, FROM £29 for 30ml, nationwide

This citrus aromatic woody is freshness with a twist. Top notes of grapefruit and bergamot, with black pepper, a heart of ginger oil, clary sage and lavender, and a base of clearwood and suede, complete this modern scent.
