Alpha-H launch Clear Skin Tonic

I love a beauty launch that is something new, and innovative. Alpha-H rarely lets me down, and the Australian brand has come up trumps once again with this new Clear Skin Tonic.

Acids are great for the skin – we know this. They are excellent exfoliants and are brilliant in the pursuit of glowing skin. And we all want that glow!

Water-soluble AHAs are ideal for skins where the natural desquamation – that’s the shedding of the skin naturally – has slowed. That’s why AHAs are brilliant in anti-ageing skincare, to help slough off the dead skin.

But, oil-soluble BHAs are perfect when it comes to tackling skin congestion caused by excess sebum. Salicylic Acid is a classic BHA used in so many beauty ranges for congested skin. But the problem is they can dehydrate the skin further, and that interferes with the delicate pH balance and can make breakouts happen again.

And this is where Alpha H comes in – this new Clear Skin Tonic works to gently exfoliate, and decongest, without drying or stripping the skin. It has 2 per cent Salicylic Acid, which is the star and works to clear the pores of excess oil and debris, but lots of fabulous supporting ingredients, that make it much more than a regular BHA exfoliant.

It contains multifunctional natural active Seboclear MP which works to prevent the spread of acne bacteria on the skin’s surface, and also fights inflammation and regulates the skin’s microbiome – that’s the active part of the skin that keeps it functioning.

Clear Skin Tonic also has antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, thanks to Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, and Thyme.

There’s Licorice for further anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antioxidant properties, and also to suppress melanin, to help reduce the pigmentation which acne can leave behind.

Cypress, barley and Solomon’s Seal work as a botanical anti-redness complex, helping to stimulate, treat inflammation and heal the skin. Chamomile, Arnica, and Cucumber work to calm, soothe and strengthen. ]The best bit about this brilliant product is you can use it not just on the face, but wherever the breakouts occur – including the back, neck and decolletage.

Use it morning or evening by just moistening a cotton pad with the solution and sweep it over cleansed skin. Avoid the eye and lip areas, and follow with your preferred nighttime moisturiser for evening use, or with SPF if you wear in the morning.
