Cannabis Beauty

Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Cannabis – all on-trend beauty ingredients that have been everywhere for the last few years.

The latest brand to land on my desk to contain Cannabis is French holistic self-care (there’s another buzzword that is everywhere right now) brand Ho Karan. The name means I love you in Breton, by the way.

The new range is powered by hero ingredient Cannabis sativa, well-known as Hemp Oil, not to be confused with the latest ingredient, Cannabidiol – or CBD – which is stronger than Hemp. Hemp has long been used in natural beauty care though, and is known its high antioxidant levels and rich omegas.

There are all sorts of products in the range, incouding The Morning Miracle, a lightweight eye cream, Supernatural Soap, a 99 per cent natural soap bar, great for dry and sensitive skins, a daily moisturiser, called The Invisible Moisturising Shield, and The High Oil, which is brilliant for hair and beards.Prices range from around £6 to £25, and the range is available at thisisbeautymart.com

utan – the brand Michelle Mone’s daugher, Rebecca, runs, and the creator of the Tan Gummies tanning sweets, has now become the first self-tanning brand to create the (patent-pending) vegan CBD-infused tanning product – CBD Tanning Water.

This new product has been invented with travel in mind, apparently – spritz it on your face during your flight, or at airports to stay fresh and hydrated, and tanned. It’s scented with Scottish lavender, and that CBD helps keep the skin firm. Oh, and uber-influencer Jamie Genevieve has helped co-create it.

I am so excited to have helped create the world’s first CBD self-tan. This is the easiest way to keep your face tan-fresh if you like using masks and scrubs like I do. I hope you guys love it as much as I did making it! – Jamie Genevieve

The utan CBD tanning Water is £18, available at Superdrug

I’ve been using CBD in my MGC Derma Neck cream, to try and get rid of my crepiness, and I’d love to also try the CBD & Hyaluronic Cleansing Milk and CBD & Hyaluronic Facial pH Balance Toner (£38 each, Harvey Nichols). The cleanser contains hyaluronic acid, argan extract, and algae extraxct, as well as high-purity CBD derived from the Hemp plant, to support and help the skin to appear firmer, younger and revived.
Skin is left feeling soft, smooth and hydrated thanks to its natural humectants, which help attract water to the surface of the skin, whilst also delivering hydration and nutrients to the deeper layers.
The mousse toner comes in two formulas – normal to dry, and oily – qwith ingredients specific to each skin type. The normal to dry has hyroluyzed rice protein, and algae extract, and the oily version has camu camu, coffee arabica seed oil, and carica papaya fruit.  Both toners also contain that CBD to help the skin appear firmer and younger.
