NEW Origins Plantscription Retinol Night Moisturizer

2 min read

It’s been a while since I’ve used an Origins Plantscription product, but I am looking forward to this one. Back in 2011, I reported on, and subsequently reviewed, the launch of the original Plantscription Anti-Ageing Serum.

I loved it. I had SO many compliments on my skin, and it probably was one of the best products I’ve ever used. If I didn’t do this job, and try so many other products because of it, I’d probably buy it. (Clarins Double Serum is also on the buy it list!)

Over the years, I’ve tried almost every product in the Origins Plantscription range, and I am looking forward to this – their biggest launch in a while, I think.

The new Plantscription™ Retinol Night Moisturizer with Alpine Flower is an overnight treatment with one of the buzz ingredients of the moment – Retinol.

We all know that Retinol , a Vitamin A derivative, helps speed up cell turnover. It is an excellent ingredient in a night product, but you do have to use it with care.

Retinol is a potent ingredient, and Origins recommend using this new moisturiser after serum application, and just using a pea-sized amount, in the PM only. .

For first 2 weeks, Origins suggest using every other night, then increase to nightly. Use sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using and the week after. I have to agree with all of this, having had some difficult experiences with Retinol myself in the past! (My fault, not paying attention to how to use the product, so pay attention)

Plantscription – and Origins – is obviously all about the natural, and harnessing plant ingredients. This new product blends them with the science of Retinol, so it will be interesting to see the outcome.

The other ingredients in this new cream include, obviously,  Anogeissus, the Plantscription original product, a tree bark extract from Ghana that helps support the skin’s natural fibrillin – that’s the glycoprotein that forms the connective tissue, keeping your skin looking firm and youthful.

Alpine Flower works to help boost skin’s natural collagen to help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles –  also known as the Flower of Youth, Alpine Flower thrives in extreme conditions.

As ever, there’s an essential oil blend in there of Mandarin, Star Anise, Pink Rose, Lavender, and Geranium, to calm and refresh the senses.

Origins state that if you use this new night moisturiser, you will instantly feel your skin moisture enhanced, and feel renewed radiance. After four weeks you will have smoother feeling skin, after eight weeks less visible lines and pores, and after 12 weeks a more even looking skin tone.  If I get my hands on one to try, then I will update you here in 12 weeks time.
