Be Bold with Kiko's Dark Treasure Collection
KIKO Milano’s A/W 18 collection is out soon – and it’s a beauty. The Dark Treasures collection is huge – almost too big to talk about, but I will try.
There are LOADS of products in it – from skincare to makeup, to tools. The innovation here is makeup that contains active charcoal cleaners, one of the beauty world’s favourite things for a while there.
And there’s ‘Diamond Dust’ in some of the products – but, yeah, that’s not actual diamonds, obviously. So, the two ‘musthave’ products in the collection are the Foundation & Concealer (£16.90) and the Finishing Powder (£14.90).
The Foundation & Concealer is an innovative dual-action formula, highly pigmented foundation that gives full coverage. it comes in a stick, which I love, and it’s enriched with that diamond core powder. It offers a matte finish that is also radiant, and comes in eight shades – Ivory, Porcelain, Light Beige, Honey, Almond, Caramel, Hazelnut and Cocoa.
The Finishing Powder is there to set your foundation, if you like to do that. It’s ultra-fine, but mattifies, and contains that Diamond Dust, as well as Karitè Butter for a non- drying finish and natural Mica, for shine control.
There are all sorts of Highlighters, Bronzers, and tools, and loads of colour products in this collection. The Eyeshadow Palette (£15.90) comes in three autumnal mixes – Earth Chiaroscuro, Magnificent Burgundy, and Atmospheric Teal. Each of the palettes has metallic, matte and satin shadows, and you can use the colours wet or dry.
The Metal Lip Stylo (£9.90) gives you an ultra-bright layer of metallic colour. It has a sweet vanilla scent, and comes in four shades – Afterglow Champagne, Rose Gold Infused, Striking Red, and Mesmerizing Grape.
There are also two stand-out new products – Metal Foil Eyeshadow (£12.90) which comes in six metallic shades. This stuff is fast-drying and holds the minute it is on the eyelid. Gorgeous.
The Matte Liquid Lip Colour (£8.90) is a classic for autumn, and comes in eight shades, all the berries, reds and autumn browns you need.
There’s skincare too, in the shape of Charcoal Micellar Cleansing Pads (£4.90), 2 in 1 Charcoal Face Cleanser & Scrub (£6.90), Charcoal Cleansing Sponge (£3.90) and Diamond Perfecting Face Fluid (£18.90).
