Va-Va Plump your lips with Buxom
Buxom has launched another new lip product – this time it’s a plumping, shiny, liquid lip colour – the Va-Va Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick.
I’m a matte lipstick fan, so when this landed on my desk last week, I wasn’t sure about it. I have tried it, and there are three things I want to share with you about this product:
1. It REALLY tingles upon application
2. It is VERY shiny
3. It transfers to mugs/cups/glasses VERY badly
Let’s address point number three first. I’ve been wearing super mattes for so long now, I had forgotten how much other lipsticks transfer. Yes, matte sometimes transfers a bit, but wow, this is everywhere. My tea mug from this morning is covered in heavy red smears. It’s not pretty.
Buxom says “Drying, matte liquid lipsticks are in the past with a breakthrough formula that prevents the intense pigment from smudging, bleeding and fading for kissable and luscious results.”
Hmmm.
The tingling (point 1.) is something that doesn’t last. I am not a big fan of this minty tingle. But it passes, thankfully. The lip colour is really easy to apply, thanks to the curved applicator which ‘hugs’ the lips.
The shine is intense. I tried red shade, Boldly Go, and it is a really rich, lovely true red. I’m not sure I’m ready to ditch the matte. But, if you want a change then this is a decent option. Just don’t drink anything!
