Vegan Body Yoghurt from The Body Shop

3 min read

The Body Shop launch a new range of body moisturisers this month – Body Yoghurts. And they’re 100 per cent vegan. Let’s be honest, body moisturising is a pain, agreed?

According to research 35 per cent of women in the UK don’t use a body moisturiser – because it takes too long to apply. So, these new fast-absorbing Body Yoghurts take just 15 seconds to absorb in to your skin.

They also come in gorgeous tubs – who doesn’t love scooping the product out of a tub. And did you know that 25 years ago, The Body Shop revolutionised body moisturising, with the first ever Body Butter – swapping a squirt for a scoop?

This gel-cream formula sinks into damp skin in seconds, and moisturises for up to 48 hours. You know that sticky feeling sometimes when you put your jeans – or pyjamas  – on, after moisturising? Gone. No sticky finish here.

The whole range is 100 per cent vegan, and comes in Strawberry, Mango, Almond Milk,Coconut, Moringa, British Rose and special edition Banana.

When I’m in a hurry, I sometimes struggle with  thick moisturiser as it can feel wet and uncomfortable on my clothes. My favourite thing about The Body Shop Body Yogurts is how the gel-cream texture instantly absorbs into my skin, giving it a silky ultra sheer veil of hydration without feeling thick and greasy. My recommendation is to use the Body Yogurts on damp skin right after you shower because the hyaluronic acid and glycerin will help attract and seal in moisture to your skin. Body Yogurts deliver moisturisation for 48 hours, but can be used as many times a day as you want, for hydration without a heavy feel. The Body Shop Body Yogurts are ideal for everyone, especially if you are a “reluctant moisturiser”. It’s an ideal lightweight moisturiser for the hot summer months and great for layering under heavier clothing during the cold winter months – Dr. Christone Choi Kim, Dermatoligist for The Body Shop

The Body Shop Body Yoghurts contain Biofermented Hyaluronic Acid to help keep your skin moisturised. Great for dry, sensitive skin. They’re infused with Vegetable Derived Glycerin to help retain moisture on the upper layer of the skin. And they are made with Community Trade Almond Milk and Fruit Extracts which make these lightweight yoghurt moisturisers 100 per cent vegan.

Body Yogurts are all made with Community Trade organic almond milk sourced from Mañán in Alicante, Spain. The Body Shop has worked with Mañán since 2016. They provide stability for the cooperative of local, small-scale farmers who extract the almond milk, using low-intensity farming methods. They use broken nuts that aren’t sold for food and turn unwanted almond husks into compost to help minimise waste.

The Moringa, British Rose and Banana Body Yogurts are also enriched with their own Community Trade ingredients – which are exciting new additions to The Body Shop’s unique Community Trade programme.
The Body Shop Community Trade Moringa extract comes from Rwanda, Community Trade English rose essence from Herefordshire, and Community Trade organic banana puree is from Ecuador.

The Body Shop Body Yoghurts are available from May, £8.50 for 200ml, at The Body Shop stores and thebodyshop.co.uk
