Sandal Foot Prep

2 min read

I was shamed on social media this week by an old colleague who commented on a sandal image I had shared on Instagram and Facebook  – with BARE TOENAILS.

He expects more from me, and I admit, I let myself down. How could I expose the world to the sight of my uncared for toes. And he hasn’t even see the state of the rest of my feet! Seriously, though, it is sandal season (at last!) and it is time, therefore, to get a little foot prep on the go!

Painting your own toenails is fine, but going for a full on pedicure is much more fun, and getting a couple of coats of Shellac on your tootsies before your summer holiday is definitely a sensible idea.

Whilst nudes reign supreme for nails this summer – thanks Meghan Markle, or should I say Duchess of Sussex, for that, but you can always afford to be a little more experiment with your toenail colour – and maybe even indulge in a bit of nail art.

At I Love Nails in Glasgow’s Finnieston, they are all about fun, and have loads of bold and brilliant colours to choose from. You can get Shellac on your toes for just £18, or go for fingers and toes for £30, through 5pm Spa and Beauty.

At Aveda James Dun’s House in Glasgow you can choose from Shellac or Vinylux for your toenails. A Shellac two week pedicure is £20 and a Vinylux Polish deluxe pedicure is £28, and includes exfoliation, tidy up of cuticles, massage, file and polish.

At Mina Hair and Beauty in Glasgow’s West End, you can treat yourself to a Gel Polish Pedicure for £15, Monday and Wednesday to Saturday.

In Edinburgh’s Pure Spa in Lothian Road, you can treast yourself to a Gel Polish Manicure or Pedicure for £40 all week. Your treatment includes shaping, buffing and cuticle tidy, and nails are painted using either Leighton Denny’s LonGELity range or Shellac.
