Clarins New Extra-Firming Day and Night Creams

Never mind a spring in your step, Clarins aim to put a spring in your skin this spring, with their new Extra Firming Day and Night Cream Duo.

Are you experiencing small lines around the eyes? A less defined facial shape? Maybe the first signs of slackening? If the answer is yes, then these new creams are for you.

Clarins has been taking care of skins with firming creams for over 40 years, but these new versions contain a new plant ingredient to replace the organic green banana and lemon thyme complex. Found in Burkina Faso, Clarins has sourced a new extract of organic mitracarpus which has a triple action that works on collagen and elastin fibres, and the links of firmness, visibly promoting the skin’s elasticity.

There’s a lot of chat about ‘youth reservoirs’ – young cells that promote skin’s regeneration in clusters. As we age, they deplete. But a new ingredient – kangaroo flower – can help, according to Clarins.

Native to Australia (no prizes for guessing that!), Clarins’ ethnobotanists travelled down under to study this flower, and, in particular, the cluster  of flowers at the tip of its stem. This unique looking inflorescence increases the flower’s regeneration capacity by attracting pollinating birds, just as the clusters of young cells allow the skin to regenerate itself better.  Anyway, to cut a long science bit short, the effects of kangaroo flower on the skin is plumping and firming.

The two creams come in two formulas – for all skin types and for dry skin. Using a night cream is an essential anti-ageing tool. The skin regeneration cycles are a their peak during the night, so don’t skip the night treatments.

Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream, Day Cream SPF15, and Day Cream for Dry Skin, £58, and Extra-Firming Night Cream, and Night Cream for Dry Skin, £62, are available now on Clarins counters, and at clarins.co.uk
