YES TO … COCONUT ULTRA HYDRATING DIY POWDER-TO-CLAY MASK, £4.99, ASOS

Yes To...Coconut Hydrating Face Mask

The first thing about this mask is the smell. It has a potent coconut smell, so if you don’t like it avoid. The packet says it smells like a tropical vacation, but it’s a bit too strong for me.

It’s a clever little thing, because you can add water, or a whole host of other ingredients to boost the mask’s powers. So, you can add water, or for a moisture boost, add yoghurt. For smooth skin, add honey, for a vitamin c radiance boost, add orange juice, to energize skin, add lemon, for more nourishment add avocado, and to reduce redness, add green tea. You get the idea.

Yes To...DIY Powder Face Mask

It’s a classic clay-based face mask, so you need to apply an even layer, and then relax. Don’t move your face, don’t move a muscle, and relax for at least 10 minutes – and up to 20 if you like. It dries and tightens, and then you need a damp face cloth to remove.

My skin didn’t feel overly hydrated afterwards, but it felt nice. I’m not sure at this price, how effective this mask is, but if you like old-school masks, then there’s no harm in trying it. I think I would try it with something else mixed into it next time.

The Yes To…range has a whole host of other masks to choose from, for all skin issues.
