YSL’s new All Hours Encre De Peau collection is about creating the perfect long-lasting base – it’s in the name, right?! The claim is that this base will stay flawless, with no touch-ups needed for 24 hours.
The All Hours Foundation (£33.50) is the brand’s first ‘night-proof’ foundation that will stay put through drinks, dates, dancing and more. It’s waterproof and transfer-resistant ,and has a soft-focus, matte finish. The formula is oil-free, and contains a special long-wear resistant polymer, rich in perlite, which comes from a volcanic rock, and absorbs up to three and a half times its weight in water.
It contains Kombuchka, a fermented black tea extract to improve luminosity, and and SPF20 to future-proof the skin. Apply it with the new Eponge Teint (£14) an applicator infused with charcoal, and specially designed for full-coverage bases. It’s doubled-sided. Larger side for general areas, smaller side for hard-to-reach areas.
Before you apply, use the All Hours Primer (£29.50), to minimise pores before base application. Perlite absorbs sebum and sweat, and aerogels, like micro-sized bubbles of moisturising gel, allow the skin to breathe whilst absorbing any oiliness.
Instead of the liquid foundation, you might prefer Le Compact Encre De Peau (£40) which actually has a dual function – as a foundation or a finisher. You can build it up, or keep it for night time touch-ups should you need them. This compact contains all sorts of technology which allows the cream to turn to a powder on application, but feels super-light, and has a flawless finish.
Finally, there is the All Hours Concealer (£22) which comes in six shades, and contains a high-level of mineral-purified pigments which are sweat, heat and transfer-resistant. The concealer gives a matte finish, and is easy to apply, and won’t sit in fine lines.
