I love a metallic eyeshadow. It’s pretty much the only type of eyeshadow I use. And the new Luxe Eye Shadow from Bobbi Brown is the latest I’ve tried.
These shadows come in a trio of finishes, from the high shimmer of Rich Lustre, to the molten foil finish of Rich Metal, to the super-charged sparkle of Rich Sparkle. The two I’ve tried are the metal and sparkle.
The Rich Sparkle comes in four shades – Moonstone, and Sun Flare, Volcanic, and Chlorophyll, which are all Limited Edition. I’ve tried Sun Flare, and it is a stunning gold shade. I love it. Wash it over your eyes for a hint of sparkle, or wear on top of a primer for a bold metallic look – my favourite way to wear.
I find this better than applying wet – just layer it up for a more intense look.
Rich Metal comes in Heat Ray, Melting Point, High Octane, and Limited Edition Serpentine. I’ve tried High Octane, and it’s a pretty dark almost black/wine shade with a lovely sparkle in there.
Rich Lustre comes in Liquid Mercury, Poison Ivy and Limited Edition Overheated and Metal Rose. I’ve not tried this finish, but I think it’s the most subtle of the three.
As well as the Luxe eyes, Bobbi Brown releases new shades of Luxe Lip Color this week as well. Luxe Lip Color is a deeply moisturising, richly pigmented formula in a gorgeous gilded tube.
There are eight new shades – Bond, Bahama Brown. Rose Blossom, Uber Pink, Bare Pink, Guava, Desert Rose and Plum Rose. There are also five Limited Edition shades – Bellini, Uber Beige, Tahiti Pink, Rich Berry and Berry Rose.
Add those to the 27 current shades – with everything from nudes to corals, to reds to deep berries, and everything inbetween – and there is a lipstick for everyone, I’m sure. My favourites are Retro Red and Tahiti Pink.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color, £27, and Luxe Eye Shadow, £27, are available from November at Bobbi locations, and bobbibrown.co.uk
