YourGoodSkin at Boots

There’s a new skincare range at Boots  – YourGoodSkin. I saw it sitting, a wee bit forlornly, in a makeshift ‘display’ at a local store last week. It was a bit of a sorry old Boots store in need of refurb, but the new range was there.

This is a US collaboration I guess, as it’s sold in Walgreens and Boots exclusively, and has been co-created with scientists, dermatologist, and a community of thousands of women.

Does Boots need a new skincare range? I thought their No7 Protect and Perfect range was the jewel in the crown. But…WHAT DO I KNOW?!

It seems there is most definitely a place for this, and in particular, the hero product – Balancing Skin Concentrate – which, has been flying through the tills!

Five products were going through the tills every minute between Wednesday September 27 to  Saturday September 30, inclusive. That is a lot of product!

The product claims to have been clinically proven to improve the five key signs of visibly healthy skin – those being skin texture, skin tone evenness, moisture levels, radiance and oiliness.

The range has taken three years to be made, involving a lot of women, and focusing on the mantra (and hashtag) #GoodSkinForLife

Dr Mike Bell, Skincare Scientific Expert, Boots UK, who led the development of YourGoodSkin wanted to create something that would make a difference in just 28 days.
“Our research shows that women want consistently healthy looking skin but achieving this can be difficult when
everyday life factors such as air pollution, temperature change, hormone change, stress or tiredness can cause the
skin to become unbalanced,” he said. “Our solution was to develop the ultimate skincare hack: a range of products to deliver visibly healthier skin in just 28 days. The hero of the range, YourGoodSkin Balancing Skin Concentrate, restores and maintains skin’s natural balance and is clinically proven to deliver visibly healthier skin in five different ways – skin texture, skin tone, radiance, oiliness and moisture levels – starting the journey to #GoodSkinForLife and putting an end to bad skin days.”

Your Good Skin at Boots Balancing Skin Concentrate

The YourGoodSkin Balancing Serum is used under moisturiser, and you can use it in the morning and night. It contains a unique multi action antioxidant complex containing Green tea, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and lipochroman known to help fight oxidative stress. Japanese Lily Turf root extract helps to visibly improve the appearance of skin’s condition, and Sphinganine, a naturally occurring oil that is bio-identical to lipids found in the skin, helps to combat skin
oiliness.

It also  has lots of figures on the box about its efficacy. Of the women who used it, 95 % felt smoother skin, 75% noticed less visible pores, 95% felt softer skin, etc, etc.

I can’t comment. I’ve not used it yet – I do have a couple of products here to try, but I am kind of loyal to my current routine, my skin recovering from a rotten summer, and illness.

The price point is middling – the Balancing Skin Concentrate is £16.99, but the rest of the moisturisers and cleansers come in at prices from £3.99 to £9.99. The range is big – there are all sorts of products from wipes, to mattifiers, to anti-blemish products, scrubs and masks.
