NEW Smashbox Be Legendary Triple Tone Lipsticks

Lip contouring – or making your lips look fuller with makeup – has been a ‘thing’ in the beauty blogging world for a while now. Check YouTube, and there are loads of tutorials on how to do it. Most of them invlving a lot of products, and a fair bit of work.

Smashbox are here to make it much simpler this AW with the launch of their Be Legendary Triple Tone Lipstick. Benefit did a sort of two-tone lippy a while back, but this has three layers and well, it does actually work.

You have to use it in the correct way – start at the cupid’s bow, move out to the right, then do the other side of the top lip, then flip the lipstick and do the bottom lip, a side at a time, from the centre out.

What you will achieved is a layered look – lightest colour on the innermost part of your lip, then the next, then the darkest, which you can go over again if you want more definition.

The texture is demi-matte, and the lipstick is velvety soft – it’s a really great lipstick, before any of the contour stuff.

Nothing is more selfie-worthy than a multi-dimensional ombré lip. The pros at our L.A. studio love how they manipulate light for the plumpest, fullest look. So we poured three shades into one easy-to-apply lipstick to deliver instant depth, dimension and definition  –Davis Factor, Founder and Celebrity Photographer

There is a tip from Smashbox that suggests if you want to reverse the ombre effect, use the lipstick upside down. I don’t really know why you would want to do that, but there you go, have that one free from me!

It comes in four shades – Red Ombre, Berry Ombre, Nude Ombre, and Sunset Ombre. If you like the lip contour/ombre look, then you probably should give these a try.
