MAC Rollerwheel Liquid Eyeliner

Sometimes, there’s no need for a new version. Otherwise put, no point in reinventing the wheel. So why MAC felt the need to reinvent the liquid liner, with an ACTUAL wheel, I don’t know.

MAC, with their new Rollerwheel Liquid Liner, has created a ‘groundbreaking spinning disk applicator’ – which looks like a tiny tiny pizza cutter (without the sharpness, obviously!), which is supposed to make it easier to apply this tricky product.

MAC Rollerwheel Liquid Liner

This launched late July, and it’s sold-out online, so what do I know, but, I really didn’t get it. I watched a few online tutorials from beauty vloggers who also didn’t get it.

I don’t like to give products a bad review, but either a) I am very bad at using this, or b) it’s not very good.

Firstly the formula dries really quickly, and crumbles off so easily, and I don’t like that in a liner. Applying it  in a thin line near the lashline is not that easy when it has to deal with the curves of your own eyes. Creating a wing is also tricky, because you need to control the roller properly, and I foind that so hard!

Maybe it is just mee. Have you tried this, and found it easy to use? It comes in three shades – On a Roll Black matte black, Rollerwheel Brown warm brown, Roller Royale royal blue. I tried the brown, and I do love a brown liner for a change, but this was just not cutting it for me. It’s Limited Edition, sold-out online, and it will be interesting to see if it comes back in at all in the future.
