Italian Soap

No, not a bad soap opera, but actual soap – you know the stuff that we used before shower gel was invented. And not the liquid variety, but actual bars of it!

I have become addicted to soap in recent times, mainly because my psoriasis was not coping well with shower gels. I picked up a bar of Nesti Dante Horto Botanico Tomato Bar Soap one Friday morning at The Restoration Yard in Dalkeith after my Pilates class, and I am in love!

Nesti Dante is a Florence based company, and their range of soap is huge! This tomato soap is from their Horto Botanico range, and it’s the only one of that range The Restoration Yard stock. The fragrance is totally unique, and really lovely, the soap lasts a decent amount of time, and the best part of all is that it is gentle and hydrating.

Nesti Dante Lettuce Soap

I recently discovered another of the Horto Botanico range – Lettuce soap. it’s hard to define the scent of lettuce, but this is fresh and lovely and summery. They also have Carrot, Artichoke, Cucumber, and Pumpkin! I am definitely going to try all of them.

They’re available at lots of independent stockists, and they are also on Amazon.co.uk. Prices vary from around £4.75 to £6 a bar.
