Illamasqua's Aftermath

2 min read

Illamasqua launch their Aftermath collection next week – and you better rush to counters soon, because it’s super cute, and bound to sell out.

Now, I don’t have a lot of info on it, because I am still waiting on a press release – which is a first, but there you go. Anyway, you can see from the pictures that there’s a metallic theme going on here, and I have popped another shot on my instagram to show you some of it in a bit more detail.

They’ve brought back Broken, an eye gel, in Gold and Silver (£19). It is a cult favourite this, but I have to say I am not a huge fan of the formula – a bit too glossy and wet for me, but I do love a sparkly eye.Use it anywhere you want to create a sparkly, cracked foil kind of look.

There are Metallic powder shadows (£17) in shades of gunmetal, bronze and gold  – Enchantment, Superstitious, and Hoard, which are fabulous – they really do go on well, and are pigment-rich.

I think the stand-out in this collection is the Lava Lipstick (£20) with beautiful marbled effects. The marbled effect has a purpose too – it gives a contoured look easily. It’s all about lips and lip contouring this season – I’ve written a piece for the Daily Record all about the ‘lip trend’.

Illamasqua Aftermath Swatches

There are three shades of lipstick – the red one – Rebirth –  is fabulously rich and autumnal – I can’t wait to wear it! The others are a neutral nude called Emanate, and a pink shade called Tectonic
