Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lash Collection

Estee Lauder is having a lash and lid obsession this autumn/winter with the launch of the Pure Color Envy Lash Collection. It’s been designed to create custom lashes on demand, apparently.

Do you want custom lashes? I dunno. Sometimes I think a slick of mascara is fine. But Lauder has other ideas for us, and our lashes. They are launching a brand new mascara – the Pure Color Envy Lash Multi Effects Mascara (£25.50)  – one mascara for three looks. Sort of like the Clinique Flutter-to-Full one I am in love with.

I cant compare them as I haven’t tried this Lauder one, but it’s all about a dual hybrid brush apparently which does the work of three mascaras, with just one twist. It has two sides – a nylon fibre bristle side which builds full on volume and lift to the lashes, and a silicone moulded side to provide limitless length and separation.

The mascara itself contains argan, jojoba and coconut oils, and conditioners, to help nourish your lashes. Fibres and pigments provide high definition volume, length and a rich black hue. So say Lauder – I don’t know on this one. SO, there is a waterproof version of this too, along with some Limited Edition coloured versions in purple, blue and green.

Do you like coloured mascara. I just don’t get it. I never have, and I never will. I’ve tried it, but I fail to understand it – unless it’s 1980s style electric blue – that stuff rocked.

The Crystal Lash Top Coat (£21) is fun. I don’t think I can really see it that well once applied, but I like the concept of this product. You wear it over your mascara and the innovative colourless glitter refract the colours of light to create a sparkling crystal effect around the eyes. It’s subtle, I will say that. It’s not a mascara wand in the tube either – but more a felt-tipped applicator.

Finally, there’s Pure Color Envy ShadowPaint (£21). This is a creamy fluid eyeshadow packed with shimmer in six fab shades – Sweet Sin, Wicked Peach, Brash Bronze, Jaded, Mood, and Midnight Fury. This has an aerated hybrid texture which blends like a gel, but feels like a cream. I like these. They go on beautifully, and the pigment is good. Sweep them on and blend to create an intense finish, or a more sheer look. You can wear the shades alone or together for more glamour.
