Aldi Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask

Aldi’s Lacura range of beauty products has had some excellent reviews. This is the first thing I have tried from it – the Exfoliating Mud Mask. I’m pretty late to the party, as well. It launched on July 20, and is now selling on Ebay for double the retail price!

I used it last Monday night, and when on, I felt at home watching Game of Thrones – my face looked like I had the dreaded grayscale!

Aldi Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask

The reason for the hype is that it’s been touted as a a double for the GlamGlow Youthmud mask – Aldi shamelessly state that their £6.99 product has been ‘inspired by the £39 YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate treatment’!

I fail to see how it can be as good, at £32 cheaper (ingredients, processes, etc, all up the costs), but they’ve certainly got the packaging and consistency right. It claims to ‘visibly minimise the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and leave skin feeling firmer, revitalised and more radiant.

Let’s be honest – whenever you use a face mask, your skin should feel better – that’s the whole point of it. Mine felt very smooth after using this, and looked great. It did tingle – quite a bit actually – thanks to hard-working ingredients like Witch Hazel ,Red Algae Extract, Clay, and Green Tea Extract.

If you use it once or twice a week for four weeks, you may see a difference. I will try it again, though the tingly feeling does kind of make me a little queasy (I know, weird, right?!). As with all masks that you have to wash off, that part is no fun. it does cling to the skin and harden a lot, so perhaps a big old wet flannel is best to get this stuff off.

Anyway, if you find one in Aldi, well done. It not, even at double the price on Ebay it’s a decent beauty buy if you like masks – just be careful it’s the real deal.
