It’s 10 years since Shaun Pulfrey – or Shaun P – left the Dragon’s Den with nothing. Now, his hairbrush company, Tangle Teezer, turns over around £30 million a year (2015 figures) and he sells all over the world.
Until last year, I had never used a Tangle Teezer. I don’t really brush my hair, so Ithought I didn’t need one. My husband, who has much longer and thicker hair than me, does. And after a hairdresser used one on his locks last year, he couldn’t stop going on about how fab it was.
So, I bought him one for Christmas – the Original, in black – and then earlier this year the lovely press office sent me a boxful of the brushes.
I am addicted. They’re brilliant. How could the dragons not have seen this for the brilliant invention it is?! The company has evolved since 2007, and there are a whole range of Tangle Teezer brushes to choose from.
There’s the Original – use on wet and dry hair – which comes in seven colours, and has the innovative two-tiered teeth system technology, which means it detangles with minimum fuss, breakage and damage, leaving hair smooth, soft and shiny. And it does!
I love the On-The-Go Tangle Teezer, mainly because it comes in two Hello Kitty prints. Sold! It also comes in Frozen, Star Wars and other cool prints and colours.
The Thick & Curly is for really thick and afro hair. And there’s a Salon Elite brush as well, as well as an Aqua Splash which you can use in the shower to work conditioner into the hair.
My husband also has the Compact Groomer for his beard, and the Ultimate Finishing Hairbrush for a quick brush before he leaves for work! Talk about maintenance!
There are also two ne stying brushes – a round brush and a flat brush, and they are next on my list. If, like me, you have yet to get to the Tangle Teezer party, don’t delay! Your hair will thank you for it.
