GALifornia Dreaming with Benefit

2 min read

Benefit go back to their Californian roots with the launch of this new GALifornia Blush. Founders of the brand, Jean and Jane Ford moved from Indiana to California in 1976 – the summer of love – looking for a new adventure – and boy, did they find it!

San Francisco was the hub of California’s hippy movement, and it was there they settled, in the city’s Mission District.

BENEFIT'S GALIFORNIA

GALifornia is a sunny golden-pink blush to give cheeks a splash of California colour – never a bad thing in Scotland in February! Shimmery gold mingles with warm pink, and the surface of the powder is embossed with a solar design – albeit an overspray in gold, which won’t last, which is a shame.

It’s inspired by the warm sunshine and free spirited Cali vibe, say Benefit, and the artwork – which I LOVE, was, says Hannah Mallot, Creative Director at Benefit Cosmetics, inspired by vintage 1970s California surfer girls”.

Oh yeah, and it is scented! It smells of pink grapefruit and vanilla – heavier on the vanilla, I’d say – not really for me.

GALifornia Dreaming

If you love Benefit powders and blushes, then add this to your collection. It is a pretty basic peachy pink blush, but as with all Benefit box blushers, it’s more about the item as a whole, and if that’s your thang, you won’t hesitate or baulk at the price (a wee bit much for blush).

Benefit GALifornia, £24.50, available from February 11, at Benefit counters, and benefitcosmetics.co.uk
