Bare Minerals Gen Nude Collection

2 min read

How do you go Nude? That’s the question Bare Minerals is asking this month, as they launch a HUGE new nude lips collection – Gen Nude.

Nude, you see, isn’t just one colour. It’s not just beige, it’s also pink, perhaps peach, and maybe mauve. It’s still never really bright enough for me, but nude lips are undoubtedly more popular than any of the reds I wear, and this new take on them is great.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude

Bare Minerals brings us four state-of-the-art formulas, in 40 bespoke shades. Endless ways to go nude!

Let’s start with the products. The Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor (£17) comes in 10 shades, has full coverage, is long-wering, and has a cream to matte finish. I have tried this, in Swag, from the Mauve palette, and it is exactly as it says. And, I quite liked the colour! But whisper that!

The Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick (£18) comes in 15 shades, has medium coverage, and a demi-shine finish. It is very creamy on application.

The Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss (£17) comes in 10 shades, has sheer- to-medium coverage, and is moisturising, non-tingling, plumping, and non-sticky, with a balmy shine. I’m not a big gloss fan, but this isn’t sticky at all so it gets points in my book.

Finally, the Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner (£14) which comes in five shades, and I really like this. It is rich in pigment, has a velvety soft finish and is a creamy, blendable liner which means you can line pre and post lipstick/gloss application. I used shade Freestyle and I liked it a lot – it was great  to apply after lipstick to just add a wee bit extra to my nude.

The shades are across four different colour groups – Mauve, Pink, Peach and Beige  – so you choose which ever you think suits you best.
