Illamasqua's Antimatter Lipsticks

It’s fair to say that one of the big beauty trends of 2016 was matte lipstick. Illamasqua is taking us into 2017 by bucking that trend – slightly – with the launch of their AntiMatter Lipstick.

This new lipstick range is a semi-matte range, in 16 fabulous new shades. There are also key shades in the range that can change other colours into softer, or deeper hues.

The lipstick finish is a matte, yet creamy finish, a bit of a beauty anomaly, but it really is both – they go on beautifully, look matte, but not too matte, and they are mixable and moveable.

The shade spectrum goes from deep berries and purples, all the way through plums, pinks, and nudes to reds and corals.

Nilofar Mussa from Illamasqua Art Collective has a bit of rule breaking advice when it comes to redefining your lipstick, and utilising certain shades to full effect.

We all have a favourite, go-to, lipstick,” says Nilofar, “but try to mix it up a bit. Antimatter lipstick in Lyra, a warm caramel, is a fantastic shade to shift the colour spectrum from bold reds and pinks into softer nudes and roses due to its warmth.

“Alternatively, if dark matter is more your vibe, mix Antimatter lipstick in Energy, a vibrant violet, into any other Antimatter lipstick shade for a deep, cool finish.”

All the shades are pictured – what’s your favourite? Isotope and Solar catch my eye.
