Pep-Start your Day with Clinique

2 min read

Earlier this year, Clinique launched their Pep-Start Eye Cream. In zesty orange packaging, it was quite a departure from the clinical Clinique look. I did wonder if there was more to come, and here it is – the rest of the Pep-Start range.

In bold, bright packaging, this skincare is more generic, and less targeted than some, and is, I assume, aimed at a younger customer. It’s what brands do when they are looking to bring newbies to them! Once in, the newcomers will, hopefully stick with the brand.

The products here are simple, and effective, and the packaging is fab. I love a bright colour. As ever, my only issue with Clinique is the lack of smell. I love a beauty product that smells, and as I explained with the eye cream, when it launched, these bold zesty colours really should have a bold smell to match!

You can read all about the Eye Cream here. There are two moisturisers to choose from – the Pep-Start HydroRush SPF20 Moisturizer (£24) and the Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer (£24.50).

The HydroRush Moisturizer, suitable for all skin types, is an oil-free moisturtiser, with an SPF, formulated with antioxidants, anti-irritants and barrier strengthening ingredients to help provide multi-faceted environmental protection. Use it daily. The HydrBlur is a lightweight, all-day hydrator that preps skin for makeup, blurs imperfections, and controls oil. It gives you a mattified finish, sort of like a primer would, but also delivers moisturisation. Although I wouldn’t use this is you skin was really dry.

The Pep-Start  2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser (£16.50) in brilliant bright pink packaging, is a multi-tasking product for use in the shower in the morning. It’s a gel formula which foams up, cleaning and exfoliating, making your skin feel scrubbed and ready for the next skincare stage.

There are also Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes (£14) which cleanse and mildly exfoliate, and are brilliant for removing the excess oil, dirt and debris that can clog pores. So you can, Clinique say, use these on neck, chest, upper arms and back, as well as the face.
