Lots happening at Illamasqua these days, with PETA recognition, new #Illaxpress lessons, and recently I refamiliarised myself with their skin bases – Hydra Veil, Matte Veil, and Radiance Veil.

But first, the exciting news that Illamasqua are now PETA recognised. Since the brand launched in 2008, they have made a strong commitment to never support or permit animal testing on any of their products, and only work with suppliers who uphold these principles.

In every step of the manufacturing process the brand are diligent in ensuring they are behaving as mindfully as possible in respecting the world we live within. Their range of make-up brushes are made entirely out of synthetic hair and also house over 300x Vegan products.

The Express Yourself menu offers an ever evolving range of looks from everyday essentials to the more creative and show-stopping. Tonee Roberio from the Illamasqua art team has designed four key looks to launch the new service which focus on the skin, eyes, lips and brows.

So, here are the four key looks:

CHISEL & GLOW – Learn how to highlight and contour like a pro with Illamasqua’s award winning Gel Sculpt and newly launched Beyond Powders. They’ve developed a fool-proof application technique exclusive to Illamasqua which chisels the face to perfection.

BROWS ON POINT – This transformation looks at perfecting your eyebrows to personally frame your face. Adapted to suit each individual
the brand look at a variety of brow products and techniques to enhance your natural brow or create a totally new shape.

INSTA EYE – An adaptation of the traditional smokey eye, Illamasqua teaches you how to create one of the most coveted ‘Instagram-able’
looks out there. Illamasqua introduce a ‘negative space’ technique which cuts away eyeshadow to reveal a defined shape and creates a contemporary take on a classic look.

LIP SLAY – Play with colour and texture with Illamasqua’s futuristic version of an ombre lip. Blend contrasting shades to create bright and
interesting lip designs that enhance the overall lip shape.

Now, back to those veils. If you haven’t tried them, then you really should – they are fantastic primers, and there are three – all for different looks/skintypes.

The original Hydra Veil adds a layer of moisture to the skin. The self-levelling clear gel increases skin’s hydration leveks while also softening and smoothing for a dewy finish.

The Matte Veil, for combination skin, contains Butene Glycol, to dissolve excess oil and leave the skin feeling healthy and hydrated.

The Radiance Veil is the newest addition to the primers, and is the absolute perfect way to brighten up dull skin and enhance your base, with its unique pearlescent formula. Each veil costs £32, and they must be good – they’re some of the best-seking and most loved global Illamasqua products.
