Estee Lauder's Genuine Glow - K-Beauty style
Let’s talk about K-Beauty. What is it? Well, it has nothing to do with the Kardashians (for once!), it’a actually Korean-inspired beauty. If you’re a beauty fan, you will know, and you will no doubt already be influenced by beauty from the Far East.
The Korean beauty aesthetic isn’t like ours. They focus on skin health, skin hydration, and a preferred lack of pigment. We tend to focus on being as tanned as possible. But perfect pale skin is a measure of beauty in Korea, and Asia as a whole, so the products that have come out of there have focused on products which make our skin, well, glow.
Hence Estee Lauder’s latest range, Genuine Glow. It’s a skincare and makeup hybrid (another Asian beauty favourite – BB and CC creams anyone?!) collection which will make your skin glow from the inside to the outside. New water-light and oil-free face and eye moisture balms with transformative textures work to hydrate, prime, and tone skin to reveal a natural, fresh-faced glow and instantly bring out an inner light.
With daily use, the expert antioxidant-infused skincare formulas minimise the look of pores, help even-out tone and refine skin’s texture for a smoother, glowy complexion.
There are five products in total in the collection. The Priming Moisture Balm with and without SPF 15 (£30) is a tr-brid water fusion balm, which perfects, primes and hydrates, thanks to light-diffusing technology which blurs imperfections, rice bran protein to help improve skin’s natural hydration, and glucosamine to gently refine texture. Plum and molasses extract help even skin tone.
The Priming Moisture Eye Balm (£30) reveals a more rested look as it refreshes with a light cooling feel. Molasses extract, plum and Vitamin C work to brighten dark circles as glucosamine gently refines texture. Sea Algae blend and Golden Chamomile help reduce the look of puffiness.
The Blushing Creme for lips and cheeks (£19) gives the perfect summery sheer, effervescent colour. A perfect, creamy blend of nourishing, skin-loving hyaluronic acid moisturisers, Vitamin C and E and luminous optics leave skin looking fresh. It comes in two shades – Sweet Cheeks and Peachy Keen.
The Eyelighting Creme for eyes and face (£16) is a highlighting wash of colour. It’s a multi-tasking product like no other. Touch it on to lids, cheeks and brow for precise pops of light and washes of colour. It brightens yes, lifts cheeks and enhances brows. It comes in three shades – Gleam Glow, Bare Blush and Sweetest Thing.
Finally, the Reviving Oil Lip Tint (£16) delivers just-killed colour and hydration to the lips. The pH activated stain brings a healthy natural-looking colour to lips. Universal sheer shade glows well with any skin tone. Goes on clear and then blooms to enhance the natural shade of lips.
