Bobbi Brown Sunset Pink Collection
Bobbi Brown knocks out these collections, right? I do love them though. I don’t necessarily wear all the products, but I love the packaging of this brand. I love the sleekness and simplicity of it it. And the products are good.
This latest collection, the Sunset Pink Collection, out July, is inspired by the flattering light of the late afternoon in Telluride (this is Bobbi’s favourite place, it seems – it’s a hideaway ski resort town in Colorado), or as Bobbi calls it ‘the incredible twilight glow of Telluride skies at sunset’.
As usual, it’s full of Limited Edition products, and at the heart of it, a gorgeous compact. No eye palette here, but Bobbi’s second favourite thing, a compact powder. This lovely Highlighting Powder (£34) is high-impact, light-reflective and will create a luminous, flattering glow.
The compact, with a big ‘BB’ print is limited, and there are three shades – Telluride, Sunset Glow and Afternoon Glow. The Sunset Glow, pictured by me, is a gorgeous pinky rose-gold.
Everyone raves about Bobbi’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner (£19). Apparently it’s what Adele (or her makeup artist) uses to create those legendary flicks. The unique gel texture is easy to apply and the smudge is minimal. It’s highly pigmented and for this colelction comes in four lovely shades, Bronze Shimmer Ink, Sapphire Shimmer Ink, Twilight Shimmer Ink and Steel Ink.
It’s creamy eyeshadow in this collection, with Long-Wear Cream Shadow (£19.50) in four pretty shades – Ash, Nude Beach, Stone Pink and Velvet Plum. The shadow has a soft, velvety finish, and goes on well. Like most cream shadows there is movement, I don’t care what they say, but it isn’t the worst by a mile, and it doesn’t disappear like some cream shadows do.
The Limited Edition Tube Tint (£17.50) is not something that I would be rushing out to buy, but if you just want a hint of colour, or a wee bit of colour over your lipstick, then snap one up. There are four shades – Bare Shimmer, Twilight Shimmer, Telluride and Naked.
For cheeks, Limited Edition Sheer Color Cheek Tint (£19.50) is one of those summer products that sounds fab, but, for me anyway, doesn’t always deliver. If you are on holiday, in the heat, not wearing any other makeup, then yeah, go for a natural flush of colour with one of these. I do love a stick product – so easy to use – but I also want a bit of colour pay-off. This comes in three shades, Sheer Lilac, Sheer Pink, and Telluride.
