Jo Malone Charity Candle

2 min read

Jo Malone London launch another charity candle this year for their charity initiative which sees their gardens across the UK  helping people with mental health issues.

There are five existing gardens in the country, with another set to open in London, with charity partner St Mungo’s, this year. The Redhall Walled Garden in Edinburgh opened a couple of years ago, in association with the Scottish Association for Mental Heath (SAMH). If you haven’t been, then do pop along, it’s a gorgeous, tranquil, beautifully kept, space.

This year’s candle is probably one of my favourite Jo Malone scented things ever – it smells delicious. Peony & Moss is a verdant and delicate fragrance. A note of cassis is crisp, over a floral heart, with the earthy warmth of moss. It has that wonderful ‘garden’ scent, on so many levels.

Jo Malone London help people living with mental health through the cultivation and care of therapeutic gardens around the world. Each og their gardens is a place to recover, grow and reconnect with a community – they are peaceful, safe havens for rehabilitation.

The other gardens in the UK are Kirkdale Country Garden, Liverpool, The Castle Park Physic Garden, Bristol, The Old English Garden, Battersea Park, London, and The Art Garden, The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.

For ever candle sold, Jo Malone London will donate 75% of the retail price (less VAT) direct to the charities supported which include, as mentioned SAMH, which will receive 8% of the monies this year, as will the Manchester and Liverpool gardens . The Bristol garden and Battersea garden will receive 10% each, and the new St Mungo’s London garden will receive 56% to get it up and running.

The Jo Malone London Peony & Moss Charity Candle is £44, and is available from stores, counters, and online at jomalone.co.uk from July.
