Clean with Nivea and Liz Earle

Cleansing is a massively important part of any beauty routine. Cleansing properly, with a good cleanser is, essentially, the first part in your skincare routine. Sometimes, however, we don’t always have the time to go through a proper routine. So, we make do, with a quick wash, or a wipe of the face.

And we shouldn’t feel guilty. Just use something that isn’t harsh on your skin. Like Nivea’s new Creme Care Facial Cleansing range.

Today’s hectic lifestyles expose us to more dirt and grime from make-up, pollution and environmental factors, making it more important than ever that women have an effective cleansing regime,” says Dr. Svenja Möllgaard, face care expert at NIVEA. “This includes cleansing both morning and night. Properly cleansed and cared-for skin helps the skin recovery process at night. Whilst in the morning, cleansing is required to remove oily substances such as sebum and sweat that result from the nightly cell regeneration process. Clean, cared-for skin will not only look better but will provide a smoother base for flawless make-up.”

Nivea Creme Care new Cleansing collection

There are three new products to choose from, a cleanser for whatever preference you have  – with water, cotton wool, or wipes. The Nivea Daily Essentials Creme Care Facial Cleansing Lotion (£3.29) can be gently massaged on the face using either finger tips or cotton wool application, and then removed with cotton wool.

The Facial Cleansing Cream Wash (£3.29) is great for mornings in the shower – massage the wash in small, upward circles, and rinse off with water after use.

And the Facial Cleansing Wipes (£2.29) are ideal for a quick cleanse when you really can’t be bothered – you know how it is, we’ve all been there. I’m not a massive fan of wipes – they have ecological implications as well as being too much of a quick fix for me. But, I do like having some around for those nights when it’s better than just falling into bed with a fully made-up face.

Cleanse with Nivea

Nivea has been caring for skin for over 100 years, and each of the products in this new range contains the Protective Care Complex. The key ingredients of that are Eucerit, patented by Beiersdorf, a natural emollient that offers caring and moisturising benefits to help strengthen the skin barrier function; Panthenol, a powerful ingredient that works to boost the skin’s own regeneration processes while helping to improve skin hydration, and reduce itching and inflammation, and “Caring cleansing oils” – a tailor-made cleansing formula base using highly efficient oils that deliver thorough cleansing without the use of harsh surfactants that strip the skin.

What I love most about these products is they have the classic Nivea fragrance, such a homely, nostalgic scent. You can buy the new Nivea range at Boots

My usual cleanser of choice for the last few months has been Liz Earle’s Hot Cloth Cleanse & Polish. Over the last few years various Limited Edition version of Cleanse & Polish have been released, and one of the best-selling, Rose & Lavender has been brought back. LIz Earle Rose & Lavender Cleanse + Polish

Available from now, at John Lewis exclusively, it will be available from September this year at Liz Earle stores, lizearle.com, selected Boots counters, and on QVC.

This is a lovely cleanser, delicately fragranced with a harmonising blend of pure Damask rose petal and French high-altitude lavender essential oils. I love the rich, thickness of the creamy Cleanse & Polish.

It works SO well, removing all of my makeup, even all the mascara, and leaves my skin feeling fab. It never irritates, and I love this take on it, as I do love rose.

This new Rose & Lavender Cleanse & Polish is £15.50 for 100ml
