PK Prep - Philip Kingsley new haircare

2 min read

I seem to have been focusing heavily on haircare of late. I think it’s because I changed my colour and cut, but I am a little obsessed with new haircare lines, so here’s another one! This time, it’s from Philip Kingsley.

PK Prep is a new luxury styling range that is “scientifically formulated to build the foundations of perfect hair” – I like that idea!

There are three products in the trio, and they also come in cute travel sets, as you can see, pictured. The products are Perfecting Spray, Plumping Cream, and Polishing Balm.

Philip Kingsley prep products

The Perfecting Spray is the hero product- the ultimate blow-dry spray. Acts like a primer for your hair; smoothes and controls whatever the style. It conditions without adding weight, thanks to Pro-Vitamin B5 and protects against heat damage and UV rays. A complex containing Glycerin, Lactitol and Xylitol to help soothe and hydrate the scalp and hair, and styling polymers build root volume, and help with anti-frizz protection. Elastin helps achieve a voluminous result every time you blow dry.

I tried it, and it wasn’t heavy and my hair did gain some body.

The Plumping Cream is a volumising and thickening cream – a modern alternative to mousse, say PK, and loaded with vitamins (B3, B5, B6, C and E) to  care for the health of your hair. Wheat proteins add volume.

I tried this, and it made my hair super-soft and smooth, and added some volume.

The Polishing Balm is a frizz-free, smoothing hair balm which promises to protect and style, as it transforms from a balm to a serum when warmed up in your hands. It’s easy to use, and contains only lightweight silicones, so it isn’t going to weight your hair down. It tames unruly hair, and contains ProVitamin B5 and Vitamin A to care for your hair.

I tried this and it helped my VERY frizzy hair – just don’t use too much which can be an easy mistake to make.

PK Prep Philip Kingsley range is available now, from M&S and philipkingsley.co.uk. Full size products are £18.50 each, and the Discovery set of minis is £21.50.
