Get a Pep-Start with Clinique

Clinique’s new eye cream, Pep Start, has launched with a heavy social media campaign, and its very own hashtag – #imin. Are you in?

The new eye cream contains a blend of seven peptides (hence the name) to help maintain collagen that can be threatened by stress, fatigue and lack of sleep – the tell-tale signs of a busy life!

This little bright orange tube contains a cream that, according to Clinique, will help eyes look vibrant, refreshed and hydrated at 9am or 9pm, with just a quick ‘snap, pop, swipe’. It is very easy to use. The ball applicator doesn’t move, you just snap it up, squeeze to release a little cream, and then swipe in the eye area. The applicator is massaging, and it really does lend itself to wanting to be used – it’s the easiest eye cream I have ever applied.

The simplicity of application is a big plus. There’s no need to pat it in, move it in circles, dab it on – you know the usual palaver with eye cream! You really can just swipe and go. And – you can apply on top of makeup as well for a little pick-me-up pep-start!Pep Start with Clinique

The seven peptides, if you are interested are Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12 (to stimulate natural collagen and elastin), Whey Protein (for forming the skin), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (stimulating the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin), Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2 (improves skin elasticity), Soybean Protein (rich in peptides and glyco proteins to help reveal smoother, more youthful skin).

The cream also contains Caffeine, for reducing puffiness, and Algae Extract for lessening those awful dark circles!

Yes, it’s gimmicky, and no, I haven’t tried it enough to pass judgement on it fully, but I do like applying it, and it feels lovely.

My only issue, as is the thing with most Clinique products, is the lack of scent. I so wanted this cream in this bright, zesty orange tube to smell fresh and citrusy.
